The tank flask is really good, IDK how often melee dps hit the buff cap, but ive heard quite a few people have had issues with it, but its also because some things still count as a buff when they shouldnt.
if they’re not harming others, and are only being talked down about and insulted, then yes they are victims
I bet if you wernt there your guild would clear just fine.
Guilds need consistent raiders who log in every week, anyone can throw together a pug and smash this content, but thats not what makes a good roster.
I wonder, if DPS were not trying so hard to parse, would MTs need so many consumables and world buffs just to keep ahead of the aggro?
Wouldn’t it be simpler to tell DPS to watch their threat meters, rather than their parsepeens?
This opinion is just flat out wrong.
The more people who flask the more you are expected to.
If no one flask you are not expected to.
It’s a mmo what everyone is doing affects you.
When “A” does not require a raid to be hyper buffed/flasked, it it ludicrous to expect your group to put in stupid amounts of non raid time simply to parse higher.
The “you are either super sweaty, or you are putting in zero effort” line is asinine on a biblical level, and sweatballs who proclaim such should be mocked for eternity.
Why are you making a forum post about this? Who gives a #$#@#? Do you have to notify the whole world? “LOOK mummy! I used a pot! everyone look at me!”.
My pregame ritual is only legal in certain states. Flask away.
Is it really that much of an investment to buy your elixirs from the AH, grab your Rally while you’re at it, and then fly to Westfall->Yojamba/BB to get Zandalar?
Players also frequently sell summons to the Darkmoon Faire, and Dire Maul North for the tribute buffs.
Assuming you never die, the raid boss gold will typically fund your consumables.
read upthread, world buffs are a badge of shame according to this guy
Mmmmm…maybe? It also depends on speed. Typically I use 2 mongoose + 4 juju + 4-6 firewater per bwl run with zero deaths. The mongoose are somewhere in the 5-7g per elixir range, the juju are about 1.25g each and the firewater are in the 3.75g range. The gold doesn’t quite cover that.
Granted, it doesn’t take much farming to cover that either. And before someone comes at me and says something stupid like scrub guild blah blah blah, we have 2 raids that have both had the content on farm since the third week it was available and went 7/8 night one 8/8 night two for BWL the first two days it was available. Not saying we are anywhere near the best guilds, but we are better than most guilds. Both raids are 1.5 hours on BWL and 1 hour on MC. Could we go faster? Yes. Does it really matter that we don’t? Not really.
Edit: As for the main topic, personally I think it is up to the player whether he/she wants to put in the effort to flask. Also depends on the class to some extent as well. If you are in or desire to be in a sweaty guild, you probably need to flask. If you aren’t, the current content does not warrant the effort for anything beyond the personal satisfaction of killing it faster / doing better on your parses.
For me its not so much the effort to flask but moreso, why not direct that effort towards future content where it will be much more useful.
Burnout and player attrition is also real
this is my argument for healers and melee dps not flasking in current content. with zg buff it seems like a complete waste.
mages that are boosting people in mara are probably in a comfortable enough position to never have to worry about not having flasks. if they want to go for high parses every week, they can flask and no one can really judge them for that.
Read more Thoroughly. Requiring them (for current content) is where it crosses over into idiocy. Taking it a step further and suggesting that those who are not 100% flasked and WBed for current content are putting no effort in, is next tier idiocy.
Bottom line is that (I would wager) most all of this overly buffed/flasked silliness is purely due to chasing parses and nothing to do with simply defeating the content.
read upthread about hank the moof dog.
If they are parsing with no thought to threat meters, they should absolutely be judged.
Let’s spend 6 days and 20 hours farming mats to make the raid 30 minutes faster. See the problem? If you wanna go for gold and spend all that g go for it by all means. But don’t talk smack to those who dont.
The problem is your math is way off. It doesn’t take 6 days and 20 hours to afford consumes.
It takes more then the time your cutting off the raid.
How much time is spent across the board for all raid attendees, how much expense overall for the entire raid, and how much time are you shaving off of the raid as a result?
