I feel like Sethrak should be an allied race

Both are inaccurate. The second image would be more in line with how Blizzard would handle it but double the size of the helmet.

Yea. I didn’t respond before, but Fezzy linked me that wowhead article. makes sense they would work like Tauren.

This, more or less. The Devoted wouldn’t join the Alliance after the few minutes of quests the Alliance PC did for them, and while the Horde PC did a lot more in defeating the Faithless and restoring Sethraliss, it’s clear that they’re staying neutral. We’ve already had one allied race from Vol’dun and it’s highly unlikely for us to get another from the same zone.

The argument that the Faithless could join the Alliance makes negative sense, as well, considering the two groups had no positive interactions at all, and the Faithless are far too edgy for the Alliance, anyway. Why would the straight and narrow faction partner up with the remnants of a supremacist empire that wanted to turn the world into a barren wasteland after they barely acknowledged the other’s existence before? The race definitely isn’t going to both factions, either.

Adding those races would’ve had the same outcome as adding mechagnomes vs. vulpera, only in reverse; you’d have Horde players upset about getting reskinned goblins while the Alliance got a new race. Not on the same level as the unending bawling over mechagnomes, of course, because Horde players seem to be far easier to placate and gilgoblins don’t have the one unfortunate quirk that earns mechagnomes their unflattering nickname.

Vrykul maybe, as they have male and female models that both look like they can be used for a full race and would possibly have every class barring demon hunter, but they’re extremely overtaxed as an NPC race. Tuskarr, meanwhile, are just generic spearfishers that don’t seem like they’d be particularly interested in going to war.

Yeah, there’s no way they’d do that like the Lightforged Draenei and the Void Elves… Oh, wait.

Still, a race to “balance” them out is needed, and the only new race introduced on the Kul’Tiran Isles were the Drust, and well… they’re rather dead and extremely hostlie.

The Vrykul’s problem would be size. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be that difficult to include them, aside from racial tweaking.

Tuskarr, like the Tortollans, would need to be like Pandarens if included. And yes, there are people who have been clamoring for Tuskarr as a playable race almost as soon as they met them on the coasts of Northrend. Rigging-wise, they’re pretty close to Pandaren, so it wouldn’t be that much work, I would think, so long as the will was there.

But have an interest in going to war? It’s right there in the Shadowlands pre-patch content. They are saved and protected from the rampant Scourge by the various forces of the Horde and Alliance and wish to defend those who haven’t left, or can’t.

still think alliance should of got Fox and horde got the snakes

I mean. They let the Dark Irons in. And that basically describes the Dark Irons before.

Agreed, but at least in the Dark Irons case their leader is a Bronzebeard princess. And the Alliance killed of a bunch of the faithless when taking the docks. But with new story maybe some reformed faithless could work?

That’s one way you might be able to wing it.

Still will need a story line to really solidify the idea.

I don’t think Sethrak would make sense to join the alliance since as horde you’re helping them against the faithless.

Best would be:
Sethrak for the horde
Stormsong humans for the alliance.

The Kul’tirans are already in the Alliance.

We don’t need a new human race as we already have Kultirans and Stormwind humans, and the latter will get a bunch of new customization in shadowlands.

sadly this cant happen and wont, while im not opposed if you look at the allied races if you notice they have never actually added a unique race. even the vulpera are just fluffy goblins, and they come the closest to being a unique race and not just a reskin.
the sethrak
tuskarr
and the new cov races
will never be added because they are actually a unique race, and blizzard seems to not like that

So your argument is that they won’t add them because the rig is too unique? Sethrak use a modified female worgen one, and even if they didn’t, the kultiran humans are fully new rig showing that blizzard are ok with adding allied races that’s not just a reskin.

the kultiran humans are just fat humans though theres nothing unique about them.
plus they cant be added as the alternative for worgen models because the sethrak cant be an alliance race. so therfore it just cant happen unfortunately

I’m not sure I understand your argument about the whole model thing. Kultirans are the only race with a fully new rig, so they’re just not a recolor. Even if thematically they’re not the most unique allied race added model wise they are.

By alternative for worgen models I think you mean since they use a modified worgen rig they will not be playable, due to worgen being an Alliance race and you’re thinking that rigs of existing races can’t be used on the other faction.
In that case this is simply not true, just look at the nightborne using the night elf rig, the void elves using the blood elf rig and the zandalari male used a very heavily modified night elf rig as well.

no. what im saying is if we get an allied race it will be worgen or undead or panda variant because we havnt gotten one for either yet but we have for every other race.
because of this sethrak cannot be a race because they cannot be a worgen, undead- wait a min they could easily be the panda variant

no like seriously i change my mind sethrak for nuetral race variant, make it happen

I would also like some more beast races to play.

They’re using a Darkspear rig actually.

Q: Were the Zandalari the most challenging because it doesn’t use another model like the other 5 allied races?

A:Most difficult because it’s a unique rig. It’s a modified Troll rig (straight, instead of hunch). Required a little more time on the touch ups. Same amount of time spent on them for customization options than the other allied races.

Technically their model is made from scratch. Animations and all.
