I feel I must apologize to the Static flying crowd

I also feel I have to apologize to the static flying crowd. Your subjective opinion is still objectively wrong, but it was rude of me to say so.

How’ve you been, Doobs? Honest question.

Don’t forget the lovable swimming only mounts.:heart::heart:

I think Dragonriding is better long distance , but if you hit a branch your done

Buddy, you were the one who mentioned immersion, not me.

A flight simulator requires precise movements to achieve maximum height. I don’t want WoW to turn into a flight simulator. It isn’t the game I signed up to play back in 2009. Want to use WoW’s flight sim, fine, use it. But if I, and others like me, enjoy standard flight for the fun that it is for us, what is your deal?

It’s an unoriginal game activity that appeals to a certain type of player which they cribbed from Guild Wars to appease those who wanted flight straight away in a new expansion, despite whatever problem it might pose for those with certain difficulties. I can’t use it for the races because I have developed hand and finger problems and it would actually be painful to do them. So that’s one big part of its appeal that holds no appeal for me. I don’t expect others to not take part, go for it if that’s what WoW is about for you now.

It’s not for me, and that’s my viewpoint.

Since “static” means “lacking in movement, action, or change” / “concerned with bodies at rest,” isn’t “static flying” just … hovering?

Yes, them too! Flying fish, go!

I’ll use my Druid’s flight form 90% of the time, but without instant cast flying I default to dragon riding.

Classic riding is nice for farming though for sure.

The only real use I have for static flight is when Blizzard places items in intentionally difficult to locate (or reach) areas. If I need to hover a bit and search, or land on a very narrow or otherwise precise position.

Collecting zone treasures like laden somnuts in the emerald dream, for example. Other than that one very specific use, it’s all dynamic all the time.

It’s a fantasy mmo…being able to fly dragons and gryphons is such an obvious inclusion they tried to add it in vanilla but needed to postpone it until TBC.

“And if I and others like me enjoy being able to fly in mario 64 like it’s minecraft creative mode why not include it in the base game?”

Congratulations. Flight paths are still in the game. You can use those. Or walk. Or use a mount. Or get a warlock to teleport you. I don’t care.

You just want to be able to instantly teleport from place to place with a macro like a hacker and you don’t care how much it ruins the game. Admit it.

That’s all very bizarre. I think I’m done trying to figure out your rants and will not waste any more of the decreaasing minutes of my life interacting with you. Have a nice day. :sunglasses:

Dragonriding isn’t flying. It’s falling with style

I use dynamic flying to travel and static to collect nodes/farm. Both are good for different uses, imo.

Become a better dragonrider.

Long distances, dragonriding.
Short distances, old flying.
If they were to be both equal speeds? Old flying all day.

I still mostly use dragon riding when mining or herbing.

That’s what flying is.

The ones botting love it to death. Watch them. Sit near a node and watch 10 of them all accurately land right down on it, mine while mounted then take off and repeat.

Pros for botters with this system is faster collecting and collect while mounted.

Pretty sad and funny at the same time.

I got a few of them banned at least, got 3 separate mails this week from Blizzard thanking me for reporting a bot.
