I agree for the most part… I think the RaF is a money grab technique pushing for people to own more than one account rather than actually recruiting friends… Once the concept was dropped, most responses were saying just that. I am a bit tired of interesting things being behind paywalls, but hopefully they will add something interesting/similar without RaF requirements. If not, no loss to me, they wont get extra $$$ either.
Heres an idea, you ready. Lets wait till next expansion and see if these brand new shiny models are in the game? If they don’t add them, then you can get mad. Using some common sense if their developing models like these its pretty likely it will appear in newer content right? Outrage culture is just so annoying, use your heads people.

Since when was it acceptable to charge more for a virtual version of an item than that item’s real life worth? Horse armor for 2$ was relentlessly mocked, but now a backpack at 200$ is okay?

When my kid outgrew them…kept em a bit. When is was pretty clear he’d be an only child we just gave the stuff away. Like one day we saw the peeps in the apartment next to us walk on by.
Never really talk much but that day we said hey…you need clothes for your baby boy? And away they went.
rest of this…its only 200 if you solo this. Maybe try to find a friend?
Well that and unless a massive overhaul on mount points done this will not be tricked out really. Like in fallout 4. One or 2 backback mods for it became a top mod.
And then some nice modders made some nice weapons display mods around that. You run a static display version of a rifle as an item that mounts on this. Very cool that. Your assault rifle pack mounted when holstered and it looks like it actually belongs there.
this backpack I don’t see a sword now dangling off the side done well. If like cloaks…if back mounted still using stock mount points it will be a massive clipping fest I’d wager.

Or the Demon Hunters and War glaives and Nigh Elf Sentinel armor and the two person mount in TBC.
Or the High Elves and Ateish and corrupted ashbringer in Vanilla.
Those all came out SUPER fast after their initial showcasing. I’m so glad we get all those things that were either exclusive to RAF, NPC’s, or Hardcore Raiders so soon after their first, difficult if not impossible to obtain inclusion.

I will say it what I said many years before, so where are my fey dragons? 
Here is reaility, this is not directed to the OP per say, but as a general rule.
Blizzard is a company, they are not your friend, they’re not here to cater to what you want, they’re here to make money. This includes adding things to the cash shop. Many people have argued how they hate the cash shop because they pay a sub, but they’re still playing and paying. Again, Blizzard does not have to worry to be honest, many people will give Blizzard there bank account in a heart beat. We live in a world where cute sells, virtual items we can never show off still sells. If it it shiny and cute, it will sell.
Point to all this, Blizzard could careless what we think because they know many of us will suck it all up and still hand over the cash.
You cannot fault them for wanting to make money, I mean it really is that easy for them. Simply throwing in a new shiny mount will still make them loads of money, even when people cry wolf or how they’re a vet to the game, Blizzard does not care. Good for you for paying your sub and being a good noodle.

They have been sued several times with regard to their predatory practices using paywalls and loot boxes in their games. Some are still in progress I believe.
Many of those lawsuits are because states have anti-gambling laws that their loot boxes and “surprise mechanics” potentially violate.
So? Feel free to point out the gambling loot boxes in WoW?

Lock M+ and mythic raid behind an “elite membership subscription” and see what happens.
Many players dont run high keys or mythic raids anyway.

No one’s forcing you to get RAF rewards. Only you can determine what you are willing to spend your hard earned money on. I opt for no, just my thoughts.

Omg and mount collectors had unique mounts locked behind RAF for years. If you want to go against the design intent and pay $200 for a cloak go for it. That’s all YOUR problem.

Cosmetic things are not on the same level as actual game content. This has always been, will always be, and is as it should be.
I don’t understand why, though, they don’t let you get it via in game gold - because if it cost 5 million gold, like the Bruto, nobody would be complaining and Bliz would still win… and win big.
Sometimes they just shoot themselves in the foot.

Not one of those is a gambling loot box. The be one, you have to have paid specifically for the box and not know what’s in the box you paid rl money for.
