I’m 66 and so far, I’m over it. I don’t know if it’s because I don’t have the time or if it’s because I am sick of leveling.
How did you get lucky enough to fly faster than 310 on a normal mount
The drake we get isn’t a flying mount that moves between 500-800% speed?
The author was referring to the original flying mounts going faster than what they do instead of dragonriding. So basically the afk mount going at 500 to 800% speed
oh ok you must be new then and didnt play all the expansions
It’s not that it’s so great. It’s just that it’s not terrible, and fun for a lot of people.
I don’t mind it at all tbh and having a different flying system at the start of an xpac is a breath of fresh air.
Maybe because the only one that isn’t beaten-with-a-stick ugly out of the gate is the last one you get. Maybe because I have literally dozens of mounts that I like the look of that I can’t use in DR. Maybe because a bunch of the options are RNG through races and bosses and can’t be targeted without getting on the treadmill.
It’s a “feature” I don’t care about to begin with. Why would I be willing to invest a bunch of time/effort/frustration just to make them not annoying to look at when I used to just be able to favorite the mounts I like and use mount roulette. FOUR mounts, locking basic cosmetic options like color, heads and tails behind grinding/rng, not even things like glow or armor just basic appearance changes. No wonder everyone looks the the same, because to get anything substantially different requires grinding - even color FFS.
This doesn’t even go into how limited the amount of customization is overall. Srsly, 4 mounts and each one has only one armor set to unlock and a couple fancy scale patterns. That’s it. No glow, no trail, no wing replacements, no banners, no harness variation, no bangles/jewelry/ornaments, no armor variation. That is absolutely pathetic compared to the mount variety we have in the old system. Look at the sheer amount of variations in appearances in GW2 Skyscales that they copied DR from and say what we ended up with isn’t a massive disappointment.
And I swear if anyone comes back with the “they will add more in the future” I will laugh in your face. Of course they will, and you will have to grind for that too. The lack of customization at launch screams rushed dev cycle and they should be ashamed forcing us into it with how limited the appearance options are compared to old flying with hundreds of unique mounts to chose from.
Simplest way I can put it is that Dragonriding is the first travel change that actually makes the world seem bigger. It’s been a cool addition; I feel that I get to where I want to go quickly yet the world seems bigger and more interesting.
Every other change (flying mounts, portals) just made things feel smaller and less interesting.
Okay clown, thanks for you opinion that doesn’t matter. I’ll be sure to hit you up in the future when I want more self important trash opinions!
Awww, poor baby just can’t handle being wrong about something? DR is good for the game and if you don’t like it, get lost. Wow isn’t for you anymore.
I’m not wrong about anything here buddy, but whatever helps your fragile ego overlook the growing number on your bathroom scale lmao.
Dragon goes fast. Dragons are cool. Whats not to like?
Read what I said and please comprehend it this time.
Crying and now projecting your own insecurities? How embarrassing.
That is not what dragon riding is. If you “suspect” it is, it seems to me you haven’t tried it, or gave up after the first attempt. It’s actually very easy. You don’t have to do the races or run through any rings if you don’t want to. You can just get on your dragon and fly.
You can’t tab out. You do have to pay attention and manage your vigor. (Though people say that once you get your tree maxed out, vigor isn’t an issue.) It’s faster and much much much more fun than regular flying.
That said, I don’t have any problem with them allowing regular flying alongside dragon riding. I would like to use my other flying mounts in the dragon isles as well. I would also love to use my dragon riding mount(s) in the older expansions.
The thousands of hours spent … “Flashing lights & Bells and Whistles”. Life passes, then one day realization dawns … Am so old ! IS more to life than this. Been decades since played on Playstation (Wipeout 2097)… not enjoying the “Learning Curve” at all, BUT… BRING ON DIABLO 4 !
You’re right; I haven’t tried it. But I’ve watched videos, read many forum posts, etc. Most people can tell when they are not going to like something simply through observation/research. For example, you don’t always have to watch a movie in its entirety to determine you will not enjoy it; often times, the premise, cast, and plot are the determining factors. This is no different.
However, just because I don’t like something does not mean everyone will share my opinion on X thing, which is what separates those asking to be able to choose the mode of transport best for them (for whatever reason) from some of the ‘Dragon ride or die’ crowd. I would not presume to tell anyone how they should play the game, that would be insane. I think everyone should do whatever makes them happy, that’s what gaming is all about! It’s a shame some players think that choice is suddenly a bad thing in the wake of dragon riding. You are so not one of them though, Brah. TY for your reasonable stance
I’m pretty sure people are just hyped because it’s fast and feels more engaging than regular flying. It’s not some game-saving mechanic for a game that doesn’t need saving. It’s just a nice new feature. I’d also wager I’m not the only person that loves dragons and the fantasy built around them, so it just feels cool to pilot one around in a little mini-game to help you get places.
Well, thank you, too. As I said, I believe regular flight should be introduced to the Dragon Isles (and no Pathfinder nonsense, please). Meanwhile, you really should give dragon riding a try. Even if you just hop from place to place, it’s pretty fun. I like to work my way up to high places and then just zoom around. I’m looking forward to getting my tree filled out so I can fly even more.
Lmao i think your the one whos having comprehension problems, saying 2014 is recent
