I don't get the appeal of Dragonriding

More people doing more stuff is bad for markets. lol OK

(tip: that’s the opposite of reality)

Agree with everything you posted. I doubt it calms down though. People found their big topic, or one of them to piggy back on.

Does it make a difference? Will Blizzard seriously think of removing legacy flying? I say no to both those questions, because they’ve already said we’re getting legacy flying later on in DF.

You can be sorry and feel for people all you want. It is still not Blizzard problem.

They can try and limit the motion sickness, but if they can’t. They have no reason to cater and keep a older system just because a select few can’t do it.

I feel for you, but when service change that you can’t handle anymore time to move on. That is one of many downside to having a disability.

There we go, that’s the real reason, it inconveniences you and your “market”, which it won’t. You don’t care about people at all, you’re all about “me, myself, and I”.

Terrible terrible person that you are.

Correct, I am willing to run over a select few for a better game for myself. Just like you all are trying to do for yourselves.

There is no moral fiber to any of this. It is a video game, and i am willing for some players not get to play for a better gaming for myself. I am honest enough to say that much. Most players are thinking it as well even if it makes them feel bad to say it.

I have empathy, but at the end of the day it is a video game. I don’t want to play poker with someone who can’t use numbers.

Just because you had it for a long time doesn’t mean it was a good thing, nor does it mean that normal “flying” is ever how flying should’ve been implemented in this game. I fully believe that if blizz had the tech to do it back in '07, we would’ve had something like DR from the start of flight’s implimentation.

Cry all you want but A LOT of people outside of this forum on other social platforms really do love DR; the whiners on this forum who disagree or claim the opposite are a part of a vocal minority which is luckily contained here.

No, you don’t have empathy and you whole first paragraph clearly states so.

you are the worst at this.

Clearly you haven’t played the game or read other forums because people want both.

Maybe for “outdoor casuals”, everyone else still prefers the convenience and safety of legacy flying. It’s better for gathering as well due to the hover-in-place functionality

Like I said, the only advantage of Dragonriding is the higher speed - that’s it

I get that we’re in a “honeymoon phase”, but it’s important to come back down to Earth for a moment/point out why it isn’t really a proper replacement for actual flying

So far I haven’t seen anyone explain any reason to use Dragonriding once the Pathfinder gets rolled out and people can use any mount of their choice to fly around instead :man_shrugging:

  • hover-in-place functionality for safe afking in mid-air? Legacy flying has it, Dragonriding doesn’t
  • gathering? Legacy flying does it better, in part due to hover-in-place functionality
  • uptime? Legacy flying is literally permanent until you land, but with Dragonriding your ride eventually “runs out of gas” (vigor) :fuelpump:
  • PvP? Legacy flying is much safer, since you never have to land (most WM ganks/ambushes happen on the ground)
  • ease of use (important for folks with accessibility issues)? Legacy flying can literally be done with 1 hand using your mouse, Dragonriding needs 1 hand on the keyboard and 1 hand on the mouse… “on top of” actually having to pay attention/actively pilot the thing
  • possible vision concerns? Legacy flying has none, but on the other hand I’ve already seen complain posts popping up here and there from folks complaining about motion sickness and such due to Dragonriding
  • player mount choices? Legacy flying has hundreds, Dragonriding just a handful (as of this writing anyways)

Honestly they might just increase the legacy flying 310% speed modifier (maybe to something more updated like 500-600%) in response to all the feedback, because I don’t really see them replacing it with this gimmick

Im not crying. not at all. I love DR too and I think its a great addition.

I’m just waiting to hear a real reason why both cannot coexist so that everyone is happy. Not a single one (that isn’t stupid) has been presented.

No! Not ever. Seriously. That’s the part I find a major eye roll. Like, seriously, where are they even getting that from?

I think you are attributing your views to people who may, or may not, share them There are plenty of people I have seen posting that are 100% world casuals and they enjoy dragonriding. If you don’t, and other people don’t, that’s fine… just saying “Only x people like/don’t it.” is absurd.
