I don't agree with the Community Council structure and I opted to not read people with golden texts

Talking about sock puppet chars is not reprehensible. In fact, I really really want Blizzard to stop making an exception for the WoW forums where posting is tied to the character - and people can switch chars constantly to cause forum disruption. Every other forum uses Battletag. So should this one - with the character selected as the avatar. No more hiding behind up to 400 characters per Bnet account.

Revealing real life info would be reprehensible. . Nobody is doing that.

yes the fact that people even think they’re something greater is the problem

just think of them as gd members posting somewhere else

It is just a useless system. The whole thing needs to be scrapped.

Yes. Both colors are what I find in my toilet after a night of heavy drinking.

That seems like a biased assumption. Your “disruption” could be someone else’s honest posts. You have no idea what their reason was for switching characters. This forum will sometimes switch your characters randomly and at times won’t allow you to swap to others.

But that really sounds like you’re targeting the louder critics.

My respect for a person is determined by the color of their text. Gold text is like the word of god, if someone with gold text tells me to microwave my shoe and eat it, I will comply.

No one Community Council member is a representative of the larger player base. Whether that’s how they are advertised or not. I think a lot of people are putting more importance on Community Council members. They literally have zero power. They simply have a special dedicated forum for their feedback, which by the way, still runs the possibility and likeliness of their feedback being ignored or overlooked, or otherwise disregarded.

In my opinion any issues people have with the CC are personal issues. Remember they are players just like us, not paid for their title, and they are subject to the very same ToS as the “normies” are.

Show us your proof of this.

servers up, im in. mine is anyhow.

You’re joking, right?

No. I am targeting people who use multi chars to mass report. People who switch chars to engage in intentional arguments and even both sides things to stir up drama. People who switch to other chars when one gets suspended to avoid account actions.

The WoW forum software does not prevent that. Every other Blizzard forum does prevent it by having posting access, trust levels, flags, and likes tied to the Bnet level.

Yes, that certainly can happen and that was not what I was talking about. That is not an intent to cause disruption on the forums.

Not at all. Show me your proof of this then.

Yes it does. Who are you trying to fool?

It depends on how the people are selected. If it’s a random sample of players from different levels then at least you get a more representative point of view.

Someone once said that only 15% of the players have killed more than a handful of raid bosses. The bottom 85% don’t play at those higher levels yet most of what you hear in the forums and from the CCs is raid and mythic oriented.

You don’t hear a lot of people pointing out the fact that for 85% of the players, we never get to see the end of any storyline except for seeing the cut scenes on YouTube.

? The suspensions apply to every character on the account, though. Right? Maybe you meant to say they’re swapping to other accounts?

That’s possible? I know people used to use alts to throw likes on their posts to inflate their point but that was prevented a while back. How do you know they’re even doing that? Genuine question.

Show you that we can freely switch characters? Well, sure. I think that is pretty obvious.

The software allows it. It means one Bnet account can have:

  • 8 WoW licenses with 50 or more chars per license
  • at least 400 chars per Bnet account
  • 5 flags per day x 400 chars = 2000 flags per day
  • every one of those 400 possible chars has a separate trust level and posting rights

This software choice that only applies to WoW, is wide open for abuse and some people use it for that.

P.S. Yes, this is an alt that I switched to for proof of alt switching. Since 2013 when I was put in the TS/CS program I have been asked to stick to one posting char, which I do.

Who knows what they do and don’t take on board.
But they did start their dragonflight expansion reveal by giving thanks to the CC, saying patch 9.2 and the new expansion was heavily influenced by their feedback.

So according to blizzard at least, what they write on there does sway the direction of the game.

Green text is okay. Orange text bugs my eyes. :eyes:

No, show me proof of these forum disruptions. I don’t care if you can switch characters.

I think the CC is being used as a filter and eventual scapegoat for when design decisions are disliked. (“We listened to the CC!”)
