Okay, but the claim was people can’t be made evil. A bunch of light worshiping eredar being duped into a bargain that turned them into the backbone of a demonic crusade intent on eradicating all life seems like a pretty compelling case of good or normal folks being turned evil.

If we’re abandoning the fire-water-gun-sword tangent, I’ll just fall back to the original point: Fel and Void are inherently risky/corruptive in a way that other power sources are not.
FWIW, I think nuBlizzard and WoW going forward probably agree with each cosmic force being benign, or just flavors devoid of any moral consideration. They have a lot more Show, Don’t Tell to get through to properly convey that, however (at least imo).
Except they aren’t cause people use those all the time and don’t turn into evil death lords, they wouldn’t be playable if that were the case

Light and Void are names for Order and Chaos. Yin and Yang, Push and Pull.
For life to exist both are needed. Untrammeled Chaos means no stability of form, bodily integrity becomes a thing of the past, even coherent thought becomes impossible.
Ultimate Order is just as fatal as it induces total stasis in its rgidity which literally freezes out life and thought.
All other forces are birthed out of the dynamic struggle between the two.

and i also wouldn’t say the light is 100% benign either, given it burns undead. and half the time we have to deal with its followers turning up there nose at anything not light worship

Save that is patently untrue. You’re suffering from usage bias. Light can be used to burn just as it can to heal it’s a bit better at this than Void because it’s Order nature is slanted towards restoration of form. Void can be used to heal but its more oriented towards change.
Probably not in AU Draenor. But based on our interactions with both in the history of this franchise, Light is very clearly the more favorably disposed to the living.

If the Light made people go nuts and start doing things that posed existential threats to our world/reality/lives (which probably is on the table in the future) I would agree. Until then, I’m just gonna take things at face value.

The point is the Light doesn’t mandate evil OR Good. It is what you use it for. Your evil Scarlet can use it to burn just as your Moon Priest can use it to heal (or burn if they choose)
