I miss openraid, still though shouldn’t have to use a 3rd party for a major ingame system in my opinion, I think removing the ability to leave titles/descriptions and making them click buttons that say AOTC required, farm group or just any number of tags would reduce clutter, would make the groups intentions clearer. But the thing is a lot of people that join pugs don’t read any of that anyway. This would also eliminate the premade carry spam as well, I don’t mind it in trade but it shouldn’t be allowed in premade which it isn’t but you ban one spammer another pops up.
Yeah. I think the in-game one needs a lot of work. You need to be able to add more things to it. or Blizzard needs to bring it external to the game or something.
I’ve never used OpenRaid but from what I’ve heard it sounds like a really worthwhile tool.
Why was it removed?
People stopped using it, they had their own chat but they removed that to lighten the load on the website and it’s basically now just the ingame calandar.
Understood! Thanks for the insight
I don’t actually know. It was really big in MOP, I think in Warlords and then it just died (it was long gone when I returned to the game). You would have thought with M+ being added in Legion it would have been even MORE useful.
The best part was that you could schedule things ahead of time. So if you knew that you would be free Saturday afternoon and wanted to do let’s say Normal Nya, you could probably find a group doing it Saturday afternoon earlier in the week. I have very very fond memories of doing Flex SOO every week via it.
In the past I have. Currently I just stick with rare groups with my guild and vent chat.
Going to a 3rd party website to set up an activity that you can get up and running in a few minutes isn’t exactly what it was made for, it was better used for scheduling meet ups and raids a week out, not 10 minutes as the ingame system was better for that reason.
Well, I hope I haven’t made too terrible an impression here, but if you want a tank for your keys and our schedules align, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Regardless, Hope you do get some decent pugs in when you do dare wade into that jazz!
I did so much on there, hosted a group for everyone to get their BRF mounts from mythic blackhand, did like 30 of those runs although I had mine from like the 8-9th kill, had to implement my own dkp type system so the more kills you attended the better your chances were to get the mount but you still had a chance as a new replacement player. Was a great system and I was and am still very sad that it died. I could see it being very useful for jaina and her mount, not so much ABT as that’s doable with like 5-10 people, or mythic eternal palace clears for the essence pieces w/e and mog.
You’re projecting, and it’s from a cynical viewpoint. How did you assume such a high number? There is always a variable to one’s background that influences positive or negative outlooks. If you’re mind is pre-conditioned to one aspect, then you’re most likely to see irrational instances or believe irrational origins of the outlook. Or, it could be a long time of no self-awareness, and therefore thinking everyone else is off and I’m right, type of mentality.
A lot of things out there that should be “obvious” to folks are traits or talents that require extended education and/or training, in which general practice could never be “obvious”.
This isn’t really related to what I was talking about but a good example is not knowing that your television needs to have a power cable plugged into it for it to work. Can’t really speak about my current line of work but I did work for a call center before this gig for about a year and 90% of calls were resolved by plugging in their tvs.
Would take 2 seconds to look at the tv to know that’s the problem, but people are too incompetent or just lazy which is a big one to put in more than a second before getting someone else to do it for them basically.
Another one I read years back was the lady that let her dog freeze to death outside, thought it’d be a good idea to throw it in the microwave, sued the company because it didn’t have a label on there saying she couldn’t do that and won a million bucks. These are the people you’re trying to defend and anything you say won’t change my mind there are a lot of dumb people out there.
I think the usefulness would be that there aren’t always suitable groups in the premade finder so you need to constantly check. An external site would mean it can be there in advance. Like for example I would be looking for very low Mythics, even M0 (need dat starting gear yo) but if there’s no listings for that I have to constantly check back so it’s a little tedious.
I do find that difficult to believe. If that is an accurate number, than there must be a design flaw. 10%, maybe. 90? Naw…
If you have a talent for tech, sure that would seem “obvious”. Apart from skilled labor or talents, what is “obvious” is subjective, and seeing too much of A or B will lead one to see things in cynical or positive ways.
That’s simply a mental illness.
I guess in a guild or friend setting, it could also be a way to make friends as well but I still think the ingame works better most of the time. The only content I could see it being worth using for is maybe doing a city boss raid, for the horde or what ever or alliance achieve. Mythic jaina to farm her mount etc. or mythic ep for mog or azshara for trinkets.
You basically just answered your own comment, excluding elderly if you haven’t owned a gameboy or plugged in a console or tv which is very unlikely by the age of 15-20 then you should know that your device needs a power plug.
Also yes it was either the power cable or batteries in their remotes, I would say of the 90% I listed 10% were battery problems as when I was working there all my calls were for new customers lol so they got installed with brand new remotes within a couple weeks so unless they dunked their remote in water there wasn’t another reason why it wouldn’t be working, that is if the install was done properly.
This is still the weirdest idea ever coming from dev. If my kids are not playing I am usually soloing it. It very hard to get and keep friend in this game. Due to everyone different time management.
If you’re any good at tanking, just post a M0 in LFG. You’ll have a group in no time.
Good news! You don’t have to do M+ to play WoW.
“I hope that content people enjoy becomes less popular so that I can feel better”
Nice high horse.
Get over it.
Not everything in WoW has to be super accessible.
