I hope these timed mythic dungeons lose popularity in time and stuff like torghast or any other content takes over because I do them once or twice each dungeon and im bored. Either that or keep the Mythic+ but remove timers and have the timers only for achievements and for fun for over achieving players who obsess over that crap. I dont care about time trials im not playing speed runs of old n64 games or sonic the hedgehog here. It is supposed to be a cool MMORPG not a 3rd person time trial.
The timer is not hard its just annoying and boring. After 1 season its such a slog and feels like a chore to go through the dungeons again.
Mythic+ needs to be reworked and they need to add more avenues of approach.
I dont like seeing stopclocks and timers ticking down on my UI and in the game system⌠Thats not why I play MMORPGâs.

I agree, keep M+, remove timers, add hard/soft enrage timers to boss encounters

I dislike M+, period, but a HUGE reason for that is the timer. The concept itself is sound. Adding the timer just makes it a glorified speed run, and having a punishment for failing makes it even worse and is a big reason IMHO for the toxicity you see in the community.
Doing it similar to Torghast might make more sense if thereâs a bonus for beating the timer (cosmetics, achievements etc. basically like the old Challenge Mode) but the timer isnât a REQUIRED part of it.

Yeah but the more bonusâ and the more appealing bonusâ the more it will keep the toxic players around⌠the non toxic players will have to be specific in their group posts that they dont give a f*** about the timed cosmetics lol at least torghast is a start
I think the point is that he wants to do them, but he doesnât want to feel rushed to complete them.

Not everything in WoW can be casual-proof.
Some features of WoW arenât going to work for you. I donât like pet battles, but I donât insist they be changed. I just donât do them.

Most complaints about M+ are exactly this. The âJuSt DoNât Do tHeMâ crowd doesnât understand that.

If you add any kind of reasonably attractive bonus for a timer, everyone will just leave if they donât think the timer will happen.
IMO there should never be a run-wide penalty. You die? cool you wasted time and repair bills. Youâre absolutely awful and keep dying? itâs gonna be a crappy run⌠but you can continue trying with no overall penalty, if you want.

I see lots of groups in group finder saying they donât care about making the timer.

The timer is literally the only difficulty in M+.

and they get penalized⌠we who âdont like timed runsâ dont want that and we dont like that⌠Get it now? We want to do Mythic+ dungeons with no timers

Youâre not penalized, you just donât get the maximum rewards, because the whole point of M+ is the timer.
You still get rewards.

Honestly, the issue is more the punishment for NOT meeting the timer, not necessarily the bonus for beating the timer. Having âfailureâ not meeting the timer makes the emphasis on speed which is IMHO the entire problem part. The timer was supposed to be optional/hey you beat the timer have a bonus, not the focus, but itâs become the focus.
however that said, I mean more rewards that donât directly affect things. Cosmetic or otherwise non-game related bonuses (so not a higher key)
My opinion on that design, is that it is lame and boring

So the timer is boring, but ccâing every mob but 1 and waiting for lust on every boss is engaging gameplay? Got it.

Yes timers are lame and boring⌠this is an mmorpg not a sonic the hedgehog or n64 speed run. I have never once cared to watch mythic+ dungeons online, but I will likely enjoy watching torghast content online as well as playing it.

Thatâs a little extreme as well IMHO. But better than a timer that encourages treating a dungeon like a speedrun of Super Mario Bros.

Itâs one activity in the game that has a timer. The other 99% of the game has no timers. Just go do the other non-timed content and ignore M+.
