I didn't enjoy the dalaran quest

I dont think the issue is you CANT feel it, like you even mentioned, people are wanting to be able to feel MORE than that. The questlines and text are stuck on sad mode, though, and it’s not really a question anymore.

You even wanted just a snarky option. Nope. Just be sad.

Fair enough, they do say …something… about getting back to work. That they do.

But the overall theme of the questline is pretty… sad. It just is.

The old “rule of cool” needs to come back, I think. Maybe this is cool to the current employees but games like Helldivers and Space Marine have stories that FEEL COOL, heroic even I might say.

I want to feel HEROIC. Being sad about stuff is cool at times, but that’s… once in a while type of story telling. Accenting the heroics, IMO.

Blizzard is really good at destroying it’s heroes. They must be huge Rian Johnson fans.

Sure thing.

Is…is this what you think of people in wheelchairs? Seriously dude?

…well I guess that’s definitely a take on the statement.

I want to know what Khadgar meant when he said “No more meddling in world affairs.” Does that mean the next time the legion invades he’s just gonna sit on his hands?

Obviously not. Mostly means they won’t get into a nation’s politicss any longer.

Going from the clone wars Jedi order, who were always with Chancellor palpatine to going to Luke’s Jedi order in the legends canon, doing things just for the force/arcane. Studying, learning, teaching and staying out of the world’s overall problems if it isn’t a huge crisis.

Yeah… I think this is blizzards attempt at retiring old characters. I am pretty sure they want a new cast after midnight.

I didn’t either. They must have removed a few story beats to shorten it up or something.

The questline is sad, it is supposed to be but we do see them moving forward not just wallowing in the sadness. There is hope there and you can “talk” to the npcs at the end to read their take on it.

I will say I have never once felt heroic in WoW. Even when I raided, that is just not a feeling I got.

Honestly pretty surprised to see how many people disliked this questline (though it’s the forums, so I guess I shouldn’t be). It wasn’t anything major, and I never expected it to be—it’s not part of the main campaign. But it felt like a nice little side story with a heartfelt narrative, good voice acting, beloved characters, and a fun little nod to an old villain.

I don’t need a little worldbuilding side quest to be filled with #epic bad@ssery; I need it to help me feel a little more connected to the world of Azeroth & its characters. And that’s exactly what it did. I walked away feeling like “huh, that was nice” and moved on with my life. Which I imagine was probably the goal.

The issue with that is that Blizzard forgot how to do character development. I do not care about any of the new characters they have introduced in the last couple of expansions. Toddy, Dagran, his mother, Doc OC lady, shield girl, angry bow girl, mopey mcpriesty. I seriously don’t even remember most of their names just remember them by their gimmick.

If this is the main cast in Midnight it’s already over.

TL;DR

“Does anyone else think it’s bad writing if people are sad after bad things happen to them?”

You can be angry at work, just don’t show that you’re angry. Cause too many supervisors/managers/employers are too wiling to fire someone than make changes to their business that improve workplace morale.

cutscenes are a reward for the gameplay

Sorta yeah. When these same people lived through their family members being killed then raised into undead screaming for them to kill rhem as they ate the rest of their family members.

I sorta expect them to be of sterner stuff.

I’m guessing you didn’t pay much attention to the story, before this questline or during it if this is all you got from it.

Im guessing you are treating all these characters as new characters and not veterans of multiple wars…

That makes even less sense.

In what way go on. Explain how come members of dalaran some veterans from the first war through to the fourth war would crumble at the drop of a hat.
