I did a m+ carry for gold and now i'm banned

Yesterday i did a carry for gold to a player from illidan server, which is suppose to be within the terms of service of wow just to wake up today and find out i have been banned for 15 days. i got no email detailing the reason of my ban but that’s the only reason i can think of. can anyone explain to me if what i did is wrong or how can i get unbanned? i though doing pve or pvp carrys for gold in-game was completely legal and within wow TOS

Nothing we can really say or do will help, but all you can do is put in account appeal. I’d look in your spam/trash folder in your inbox for said email.

Carries for gold are okay (albeit unsupported) in retail, only thing I can think of is where you were advertising that carry.

Yes i did get an email but it just says that my account was suspended and that i need to reactivate it by going to the suscriptions tab on my bnet account, when i try that i get a message that my account is suspended and can not be reactivated

No other possible reason? I love our Blizzard overlords but being suspended for something you did yesterday? Seems very quick… too quick imo.

Maybe the forum support agent can help you figure this out. This could be from something not related to the M+ carry for gold.

Check your spam filter they email could be in spam

i did check spam and trash folders but i only got that email that i was suspended, i did some research and apparently if you get gold that was bought by a new account and it is sent to you via in-game mail there is an automatic system that will ban you, it will explain why i didn’t get an email with the specific reason of my ban. you guys think i could appeal it?

Just appeal it. Trying to guess what may or may not have trigger an account action isn’t useful as the appeal team only look at their logs for the details.

These kinds of suspensions are typically for things that happened weeks ago or more. Investigations take time.

The other possibility is that the other person paid you with stolen gold. If you have to say “well I didn’t know the gold was stolen”…in an unsupported activity the responsibility is still on you. That’s why such activities are unsupported.

This would appear to be for language.

Just for reference - profanity isn’t allowed in our games. Not explicitly, not via abbreviations, misspelled or phonetically.

Oh sweet heavens, this is a new one. False. False. If you’re traded gold that was illegal gold, you’re going to get suspended for it. All of that other mess? Unfounded and bullhockey.

Please don’t listen to a thing you’re seeing on Reddit or the other echo chambers. You’re going to be told all sorts of unproven “truths”. If you have questions, come here where you’re going to have the correct information shared to the best of the SFA’s and posting folks’ capabilities. People who spread lies and tin-foil-hat theories get smited down pretty quickly on CS.

And since Orlyia has been kind enough to elaborate why you were suspended, please do appeal it if you feel that it was incorrect.

You can submit your appeal here: https://us.battle.net/support/en/help/contact/2014/ticket

I did get a suspension for chat in 2023 but the way it was acted on was completely different i got 2 emails 1 for the suspension and another one that detailed the reason for the ban which was for behaviour (i was healing in solo shuffle it really sucks)

Since then i pretty much stopped using my chat so i maybe you are seeing my previous suspension from a long time ago

No, Sushiroll - this one is quite fresh.

NO NO NO it is not, the thing you should do is watch what you SAY! Not that hard to follow the rules.

Then why i didn’t get an email for it like last time?
contacted blizzard support twice trough a ticket and got a bot response twice in a row

Not a bot just a template.

People seem to just not understand what it takes to do a customer service role until they actually have a job in that area. Templates are a godsend, without them I would have gone crazy trying to individually type every single email and chat with a customer while I worked in a call center during lockdown. Gave me a whole new perspective and I am more understanding of the people that provide the service. After all, they are only human and can do only so much of what they are allowed to do.

While they used to provide a snippet of the conversation in the emails, they stopped doing that late last year. Why? We’ve not been informed. It was a Dev/Powers That Be decision. But they’re not sending that in the emails anymore.

There seems to be a delay for some of the emails going out. They are supposed to send once the reports are reviewed and a violation found. They seem to be stuck pending, which is being looked into.

There isn’t usually a lot that can be found in those other than a notice of the action. They don’t generally provide chat lines.

I took a look at it though and it seems what earned the penalty was the use of combination word that considered of an S word and a disparaging term for mental development. There are others, but that was the most recent and stood out.

This is a solid highlight/example of how in this environment you should treat everyone with respect; and avoid reacting to anything that bothers you even if you feel it is warranted. Your case will be looked at / actioned based solely on what YOU did; there won’t be any context outside of your history.

I see a lot of random folks that use profanity or are rude for sometimes extremely petty reasons or to simply feel better about losing; don’t do it; the reason doesn’t matter.

Just remember that it’s a game and try to not let the emotions run wild and figure that the anonymous nature of the internet will help you out.
