Disc is the second highest healer by participation which means that they would see less of a difference caused by alts compared to rsham or preservation.
Like I said, if you want to go vet out all the alts for all the healers and prove how significant or insignificant it actually is, be my guest, but its outside the scope of the original data set.
Its completely insignificant because people could have gotten it in the previous time period just havenât been playing. Look at the ladder. If you are trying to say we are working disc out we arenât the spec is completely ruined.
Honestly, not the best comparison as you are comparing greater than 1600 with greater than 2400(>2400 is included in >1600, not to mention games are played completely differently between these ratings).
What you have shown could have been a product of inflation(they all increase by at least 20% according to the 9/27 â 11/1 column.
Itâs not a comparison, but rather a ratio of how many players of a spec in solo shuffle make it to 2400 compared to how many players are playing that spec. Itâs impossible to know how many players are playing a spec at all ratings as check-pvp only has data on those above 1600. Data like this can provide insight into spec strength, though this data set is confined to solo shuffle.
Yes, inflation does play a part in this, but that is something that happens equally to all healers. In the last 5 days where inflation gain would be minimal, you still see disc gaining the most.
You are misunderstanding a very simple concept here.
Group A has 1000 people.
Group B has 500 people.
Both groups are given 10 dollars, which group gained the most?
Of course disc âgained the mostâ from artificial inflation there are simply more of them to benefit from it. That doesnât change anything about the spec from a balance perspective.
Mmr injection impacts all healers equally. If healer mmrs were spread evenly across each spec, then it doesnât matter if 10 of 100 players cross 2400 or 100 of 1000 cross. The end result is 10% of a specs population in both scenarios. However, spec mmr is not evenly spread across all ratings. For disc to benefit more than other healers, it would have to mean that disc had disproportionally more higher rated players, something the rest of the data suggests would not be true.
Hpal, a far stronger and more represented healer, saw far less growth than disc.
There really is no simplier explanation than what I gave you. You can keep making up nonsense and clinging to it but it wonât change that reality.
As for your hpal statement the issue you neglect to see is while hpal had a higher representation they also had a significantly higher starting group above 2400. This limits their potential for growth as most capable of achieving that rank already had done so.
It seems straightforward: if you chat with Absterge or any versatile healer(that plays all healers), youâll likely hear a consensus that the discipline priest falls short compared to other classes.
Thereâs been considerable confusion around this specialization because itâs quite popular. In fact, itâs the top healer spec in PvP by the amount of players. However, when the balancing act is swayed by popularity and average ratings, you get extremes â either overpowered or underpowered. Ever wonder why the game seems unbalanced? Thatâs a big part of the puzzle.
Regarding the discipline priestâs recent performance, if youâre of the opinion that the spec âwas/is doingâ fine, a practical approach might be to play as a discipline priest yourself and attempt to break into the top 1%. This experience could drastically change your perspective and, hopefully, enable you to provide feedback that fosters a more balanced and enjoyable PvP environment for everyone
Well, I think Disc feels pretty decent after the patch, but I havenât played any outstanding players, yet I think this is way better than last season. At least when I penance people they go to full now and I get big shields from the weal and woe now that the chain gun penance is easier to get.
Remember our set bonuses buff our smite and smite is trash. This means while other classes are scaling with gear+bonuses disc just gets left with gear. It might feel decent now, but I highly doubt its going to scale well and the design as a whole is still a mess.
