Also experiencing this same issue. It seems like the game is defaulting to the Pandaria timeline for alliance allied races for some reason. Even changing the timelines to something else doesn’t allow you to get the quest to start BFA.
Same issue on my new mechagnome death knight. Chromie tells me that i’m needed in icecrown but my quest log is empty. Boralus NPCs let me accept world quests for the zones but no one in town gives me quests. Magni led me upstairs to the heart and we fixed the floor but after leaving I cant go back and the quest chain stopped.
Look under your war campaign quests it send you to the keep. The king and Jaina are in the first room on the left. I just talked to them and they sent me to the docks to see Jaina. I’m Kul Tiran so the option was take me home. I’m back at the mission board there are now quests here.
thats the whole issue we dont see that neither and when we go to the keep on the left room there is nothing for us there, did u already had the quest? cause for all of the rest of us the left room in stormwind keep doesnt show us anything but the old settup how it always has been we also dont see the war campaign quests nothing
Update just did it on another toon and they don’t have the quests. I’m pretty sure this toon didn’t have the quest prior. I did it on my mage 2 days ago and the quest was done in the throne room not the room at the bottom. I was hoping this was the fix =(
There’s nothing in that room except an NPC for a side quest to get a Tiara.
eya its still weird how for some pole jaine and the king our on the first room on the left i get the feeling they changed location and most likely that bugged out with phasing or anything else maybe
I think you’re right. The guy on the throne is probably for shadowlands and they moved them and now it’s bugged. I was the post above. I just did it on my druid and everything is opened but now I can’t on my priest. 2 days ago I did it just fine on my mage
yea it happend al lsince latest hotfix as well
Having this issue on a faction-changed character, have WQs and can do dailies for N’zoth but Boralus is broken in terms of phasing and no one is offering me a quest to pick things up.
blizzard is not gonna implement a hotfix for 1 issue
This is a big enough issue that I’m sure they will. This is preventing a lot of people from even the current expansion. It effects many quest lines, not just one.
yes i know that mate but blizzard doesnt think like that otherwise this issue would have been solved already i meanthey have maintenance on 21st octoboer so they might fix it than but that still means 3 days with one current unplayable expansion, dont get me wrong i agree with u its a big issues but after playing wow for 15 years i also know that this isnt as big for blizzard in their eyes… cause this is already lasting almost 2 days now and it might last another 3 days till the maintenance on wednesday, just look on the ammount of forum posts and poeple even mentioned it on their twitter where blizz posted about the scheduled maintenance for 21st… i know its annoying i know ita big big issue but il promise u know this wont get fixed as early as 21st october maintenance (if we are lucky)
affecting me on my shaman alt as well. Turalyon is on the throne, i cannot start the intro BFA quest. I am not timewalking, however the quest givers are present to start both MOP and Cata quests. I have tried starting both at Chromie, then have her return me to regular time, but not change.
Yeah, they’ll probably fix it on Tuesday. It’s not very far away. Right now they’re probably in the process of tracking down exactly what caused it and working on the coding to fix the issue or coming up with a way to implement a change. There may be more to it than a simple click and it’s all better. I’m sure they’re aware of the issue now and just need time to work on it. Take the time to do something else. I have no problem running my many alts through the different timelines available to level up even though I’d like to do the current content.
Knowing what the problem is doesn’t mean the fix is instantaneous.
After playing wow for 15 years you should know it is.
If you aren’t a Blizzard employee working on the issue you don’t know this.
Looks like they’ve finally acknowledged the issue and are working on a fix.
Information is now here https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/000275307
Well, the acknowledgement is at least a good start… Prior to the pre-patch event I had a DK that was 116 and a priest that was 105. The DK was well into BFA questline the priest was in legion. When the Pre-Patch dropped everything scaled accordingly and seemed to be fine. That is until I tried to switch to my priest and join up with my wife who I was rolling with on my DK. I saw plenty of people in Bridgeport in the very low 40’s so I didn’t understand why nothing I do seems to be working. I went to the chamber of hearts location but couldn’t port in… The portal to BFA area is visible in stormwind but not useable and nothing up in the throne room. I tried using Chromie to jump to pandaland, then log out and delete the cache folder, log back in and then drop the quest and chromie-port back to modern timeline and nothing worked. So from what I am reading here, it looks like many people are having similar issues and it isn’t something on my end I am missing or my toon was too low level prior to the squish to get into BFA… “I really thought that was the reason but I saw lower levels than me in the BFA area”
If the answer is definitely “hang tight, Blizz knows and is working on it” that’s plenty good for me. I have other toons I can work on for now. Just wanted to know it wasn’t something I was missing or doing wrong.
Thanks for sharing that here. This specific article seems to affect Alliance Allied Races most.
We’ve also found that in some cases, starting another expansion leveling experience an then switching back to “present” with Chromie might force the quest to get pushed.
As with many workarounds, this might not work for everyone but if you would like to give it a try then you can.
