I believe the Horde should be changed

Literally every Orc we’ve seen from vanilla to current has been hyper-aggressive in some way or another. Thrall was the most green human and even he’s prone to outbursts of it.

Yet story forums seem to act like Orcs are the pinnacle of honor/peace and that it’s external factors that are all responsible for every bad thing they do.

Orcish Honor isn’t Human Honor but the Orc fans that clamour for a Honor Horde seem to ignore how Orcs revel in killing people and say that doing so will bring them “great honor.”

I like this void elf. This is a good void elf.

Wha–? Where did you get that idea?

To the OP: Changing the Horde’s system of government won’t change the story unless we get new writers.

oh, well ashenvale is closer to orgrimmar than teldrassil. the night elves are invading.

"Our plans here in Icecrown hinged upon our taking that gate before the Horde could. "

This is why you can’t be trusted for objectivity.

Dude, what? You’re drunk, go home.

Lol yeah thats now how this works Orc boy.
Even according to lore both Thrall and Cairne wanted the Horde out of Ashenvale but the Warsong refused so they stayed put.

The Horde quest explained the Horde recon group stayed hidden and attacked the Alliance from behind.
Are you sure you did the ICC quests?

Clearly you did not read all the details but what more could be expected from Treng?

See Ashenvale. Thrall stayed idle while Horde elements invaded NE land.
And of course he is guilty of letting Wrathgaate happen and the icecrown attack.

Sure is. You don’t let enemy soldiers build forts at your back door.

Yeah my myriad of achievements earned in the correct time frame are all photoshopped.

What about Brennadam?

The question isn’t whether the Horde should be changed, it’s who will change it? Frankly the Horde is getting a little old for Daddy Wrynn to always be on diaper duty. Mommy Sylvie should take some responsibility. Or better yet, maybe the Horde should just get started on its potty training already.

Thrall had the best chance since he’s a green human instead of an Orc.

He needed to remain in power for at least a new generation of Orcs to grow up with his ideals, ensuring the Orc boomers who live to Zug wouldn’t be able to take the reigns and redirect the Horde back to their roots.

Since Thrall stepped down and let Orc traditionalists and hypocrites rule, there’s nobody who can change it. The Horde doesn’t need to change because it’s doing what it usually does.

Blizzard could just stop writing the horde to be evil. Thrall never started an idiotic war, and if Vol’jin wasn’t killed off I doubt the current conflict would’ve happened. Hell, even Garrosh and Sylvanas could have been more aggressive warchiefs without making both of them mustache twirlingly evil for the sake of faction conflict.

No.
If anything, the Alliance needs to get rid of High King(Most alliance players seem to despise it as a concept), and the Horde should keep Warchief and blizzard should just stop writing idiotic faction war storylines.

That land already belonged to them. Remember the orcs are the invaders here.
They aren’t even from the same planet.

And yet you had no idea about the ICC quests.

Too late for that. They are evil and Horde players like Treng love it. Can’t ruin their fun by turning the Horde into Alliance lite.

They’ll get over.

The Horde more or less does whatever the Warchief tells them to do because “The Horde” and “The Alliance” generally function as extension of the lead characters. The game has increasingly become more of a melodrama driven by the faction leaders’ personal goals, rivalries, romances, etc. The factions are just their tools.

The Horde is an extension of the Warchief in the story. They were ideologically opposed rivals to the Alliance under Thrall and Vol’jin. Existential threats to themselves and others under Garrosh and Sylvanas.

Even the racial make up tends to reflect the Warchief- with Trolls becoming more prominent as guards and B-plot characters when Vol’jin was in charge as opposed to Orcs under Garrosh and Forsaken under Sylvanas.

All you have to do is introduce a faction leader who does what you want the Horde in general to do, and the rest’ll work itself out.

That’s how it’s going to work but the writers don’t understand how horrible this makes the Horde

Thrall is directly opposed to tyranny -The Horde was a collection of Outcasts and the Misunderstood

Turns out not so badly misunderstood.

the warchief is a relatively new phenomenon for the clans anyway

The problem with that is that it’s also the perfect recipe for the Korkron to usurp control of the Horde. I can just picture a conspiracy in the works like the one in Fulmetal Alchemist.

Brennadam was written specifically by the Alliance-story writing crew. It’s never even referenced Hordeside.

Which Pheandra (and yourself) would know if she (or you) actually played Horde.

Again. Night Elves, Trolls, and their empires. The heart of the entire Horde is right next to Ashenvale. The Horde should not suffer one single night elf to be within fifteen miles of its back door.

And you didn’t even read them. The Alliance went to ICC with the intent to fight the Horde. You painted it that “The Horde attacked without the Alliance instigating.”

You make no sense.
Are you still in the opinion that the Horde are NOT invading maniacs? Because you are just now arguing that they are.

Actually they went there with the intent to fight Arthas and the undead. There was no indication that they wanted to attack the Horde.
His plan was to arrive before the Horde did and that’s all we know.

You keep changing your story, first you didn’t even know these quests existed and now you are trying to tell me what I already knew?
The Alliance was essentially overwhelming the Scourge’s defences in Icecrown but the Horde back stabbed them and the Alliance had to plan another attack to assault the Icecrown gate.

Here are the Horde dialogues:
Gathering… information… on the Scourge.
Alliance forces appeared…
We took cover - waited until they attacked the gate,
then, we hit them from the rear.
Pinched between us… and the Scourge… it was too much for them…
They saw the Alliance assaulting the gate and they attacked them from behind…
<After a brief pause, Korm bursts into laughter.>
THAT is what it means to be HORDE!
Were it not for them, the Alliance maggots would likely be holding that gate!
Their boldness has bought us precious time.

Here are the Alliance Dialogues
We attacked under cover of a blizzard…
The Scourge were caught off guard… our victory was certain…
Then… from behind us… the Horde came from nowhere.
They cost us… everything…
So… It was a rout - a total loss. This shall not be forgotten.
Mark my words, <class>. The Horde shall pay for this… there will be no mercy!

This is Thrall’s Horde people.
