I’ve beaten all 36 Mage towers

If you love the Gold Saucer then you can even use MGP to buy different haircuts there as well as other cosmetics. There are also some for sale on the market board.

Make sure you’ve unlocked the aesthetician first of course to change your hairstyle.

Heard that our man Yoshi was bringing in some backup servers soon so that should help. Things should get better also when people finish the Endwalker MSQ. Queues should go down.

Oh I did. FFXIV even makes getting a haircut an adventure, I love that guy.

Oh man, I hate to sound like a shill, but if you love goofy stuff then you’d love FF. I mean, there are so many instances of goofy/fun quests in the game that lead to getting cosmetic items.

I like it being 2 weeks. During time walking

for every 1 ‘good’ player as you put it, there are at least 1000 ‘bad’ players based on your criteria, but it’s likely closer to 10,000 or 100,000.

a single $15 sub well never be worth more than 1,000 or more $15 subs

Wild star performed in this same manner you are talking about, where everything was tuned and designed for the top of the top…and where exactly is Wildstar now?

I actually wanted my mog because I liked it and thought it was very paladin-y…but then on a whim checked out the animations (not just the static idle animation) and found that on certain cast animations, including one I use regularly, the shoulder clips into the face so badly I look like Zoidberg. It’s not worth it anymore.

I didn’t care about the prestige and now I’m so frustrated to have wasted so much time and aggravation, not to mention gold trying to get old-world gear to cheese it because it wasn’t happening with SL gear.

I don’t claim to be a world-firster, but I’m not a mouth-breather either and what I encountered wasn’t balanced or fun. It was stressful and not in a “this challenges my class knowledge” way. It was stressful in a “I like party members being one-shot, said no one ever” kind of way.

I was so excited for the Mage Tower because I really looked forward to the challenge of creatively using class mechanics to beat the encounter.

I’m happy for those of you that beat it and even found it easy, but it’s not worth it for me and apparently I’m not alone in feeling this way.

The fight was definitelly designed around Luffa’s because the aura has aded range for bears, their adds have more HP, among other small changes.

I’d know. I also did all the challenges back in Legion. Bear was one of the last ones I did because Luffa’s never dropped for me. I had to wait until you could buy leggo’s to get it. And I did cat and moonkin on the first week.

That’s cool. I don’t.

The fight isn’t designed for you to always avoid the pool, you’re supposed to go in and do damage, then let the debuff fall off.

Getting luffa was just about skipping the mechanic.

Have you done it? Because you have to go in the aura whether you have Luffa’s or not.

For starters, you die if you don’t interrupt…

yes, i did the legion MT.

The druids pool is larger because druids have a larger range from balance aff.

It was not designed around luffas.

Yea, that’s why I said “mostly only desired by.” Of course it’s subjective and some people will really like them. Sorry to hear that yours ended up disappointing though.

I felt the same when I was attempting the guardian druid challenge (which I did not successfully complete). After playing FF14, after a short time I asked myself why I was putting myself through this unfun kind of gameplay? Getting knocked off the edge over and over or destroyed by the nethers AOE with the slightest lapse in attention (for a fight that’s already too long) got old really fast.

You can’t hit him with just the extra yards from Balance affinity. The druid’s pool was considerably larger than other tanks. For warrior, you could easily go in-and out of the pool; but Druid had to get in real deep without the range legendaries.

My druid couldn’t do that, just getting some stacks of the debuff meant I took too much damage from enemies and I couldn’t see the whole area properly with nether portals/eyes/infernals spawning behind me. And several times when I let the debuff get to 5 stacks and dipped out of the circle, sometimes immediately after I would have to charge the boss again to interrupt the drain life, leading to more than 5 stacks. The timing of that drain life cast is random which is very annoying.

EXACTLY, That’s the point.

Because druids have a larger range. naturally. without a lego. they already had more range.

its not that random. its very predictable.

Nah. I attempted it dozens of times. When pulling the boss, on some pulls I was able to interrupt drain life before reaching 5 stacks. Other times I couldn’t because he didn’t cast it yet.

Yeah, I wasn’t disagreeing with you, more piggybacking off of your comment

Me too, girl. Meeee tooooo. That’s why I eventually gave up. This is a GAME and as such it is supposed to be (mostly) fun.

(Not saying it should be free of conflict and struggle and 100% ez mode, for those of you that are going to latch onto that comment. But at the end of the day, there’s gotta be some sort of satisfaction or good thing to balance that frustration. Otherwise, you’re just stressing yourself out for no reason and life’s too short for that nonsense.)

Oh don’t worry I know from friends and have seen firsthand how good it is. Player housing customization alone would be enough of a reason to play that game

Druid’s challenge aura was 20 yards. Swipe has 8 yard radius. Balance affinity is +5. Total of 13 yards. That’s 7 yards of difference.

Warrior’s aura is 5 yards. Practically just melee range so you just can’t sit the boss.

Luffa’'s gives you 2 yards… Definitelly feels like it was balanced around having that extra range.
