Why’s that exactly?
Not a fan of fomo. This being available 2-3 times a year for a single week doesn’t float well with me. You can like it, I however won’t.

Why? I disagree that old pieces being better than sl pieces in a TIMEWALKING event is a bad thing. I always thought in timewalking that you should be able to use old gear and consumables to get an edge in it. I was disappointed that legion legendaries were disabled, we missed out on fun builds we could have used to beat it. I guess they were trying to keep old leggos and tier sets from trivalizing it but they could have just balanced the mage tower around it. But that would be too much work for something that is a feature in a minor patch.

All my mates re-subbed and had a blast farming older gear to make a set for mage tower- one of my mates got his fel-bear.
I honestly think it’s such a good thing to go back and farm old raids as content like this makes doing old raids actually worth more than just transmog.
The only big negative I have is the amount of gold I spent since the gold costs of the old items were absurd.
Ever since I started playing this game in Wotlk I always save my trinket/tier sets/leggos, just in case I will ever need them again. My bank and void storage is full of old gear, so I was pretty happy to go back and mix and match my old gear but again I was just a tad disappointed when we couldn’t use leggos and tier sets.

Think of the mage tower like secret bosses, the emerald weapons. Or penance in FFX. LFR is sephiroth, the mage tower is like emerald weapon lol. Part of secret bosses is finding the right equipment and items that work. That also can be fun. Making cool builds for a tough boss. Since it’s timewalking you can find more items that are useful for you then normal which is a nice option to have. That gives you more choices, especially since shadowlands gear isn’t really good for most things but group content output. When you solo something you are all 3 roles in one. You get to choose how to tank/heal/dps. So it is natural to want different gear. Timewalking sets are also useful when queing in timewalking. It makes sense that they are favorable too.
In fact blizz should probably let you use stuff like the borrowed power system too.
You’re missing the point. ITS SCALED content. Do you not know what the word scaled means? This means that current shadow lands gear should scale for that time walking event. Lol
The tower isn’t worth the headache. If I have to farm years old expansion gear when my current shadowlands gear should be good enough, then I see no point in trying. There’s better things to do with my time than to waste it on a false advertised piece of content.
If I ever get bored enough and hate myself enough I’ll try it again but only after its been nerfed to the ground but given how even quests from as far back as tbc are still brokenly bugged to this day, I have absolutely no faith or trust blizzard will do this right.
They can plan for 10 years in the future all they want, doesn’t mean it’ll happen nor will it close the wound on the continuing hemorrhaging subs and players.
