When did anyone say that? What was said is that if the evidence had been completely meritless the way that Townsend was implying, the suit wouldn’t even have been filed. If there isn’t enough evidence to go to trial with, it doesn’t go to trial. Of course the court needs to examine and verify the evidence before rendering a verdict. Your willingness to completely absolve the defendants of all blame simply because they claim they did nothing wrong suggests a dangerous level of gullibility. You must get conned a lot.

one of the flaggers inadvertently admitted it somewhere in one of these threads…but I personally think that even the mods here are doing it half the time to have an excuse to take the threads down they dont like

Exactly. This is a major issue in our society, people assume too much, in reality have no clue about processes, then lose their minds when things don’t follow their assumed perception of how society works.
I’m not one of the flaggers, but there is a case to be made that a take as simple minded as the OP’s is a thinly disguised attempt at trolling.

I can barely even watch a lot of right wing news and other sources over that kind of crap.
It doesnt give the source any credibility.
Just state the facts. Calling people woke or care bears doesnt make me believe the story any more than just telling me the details

True, but as a former Lead CM on a non Blizzard affiliated project I hate the idea of community policing when it comes to being able to flag posts as “trolling”. It is a very slippery slope in my opinion due to the subjective nature of perception.

Criminal cases tend to require a higher burden when filing in every state. In the overwhelming majority of states, restraining orders and civil cases are one and the same as filed. This is how it was explained to me from both a lawyer and a DA. I have personal experience in this as well.
I can go to the court house and file paperwork requesting a restraining order and claim you are a satanic witch summoning demons and possessing my children with zero proof. When this gets to court (and it will), it will be laughed out by the judge. When that doesn’t work out for me, I can simply file a civil suit for “damages” due to what I perceive resulting of your “satanic/witch/demonic summoning/possessing kids” activity.
This too will get laughed our of court, and may even get me a stern lecture or fine for wasting the courts time - but they most certainly will file it.
And before you go discounting this saying it’s either old or could never happen - Both of these did happen. I had to show up as a witness for the responding party in both cases. Both cases occurred between 2018 and 2020.

I can sue you right now saying you assaulted me on X date.
This very thing is what happened with Monsanto when they sued farmers who they knew they would lose to, but would bankrupt the farmers by virtue of them having to hire lawyers.

But it is, maybe you should do some research before you try to be an internet lawyer. If an employee sues a company for sexual harassment the only thing they need to provide is a document saying “I went to HR about it.” That’s it nothing else. It’s a little thing called due process. That’s not evidence, that’s just saying I felt this way, I brought it up and they did nothing." They went off testimonial evidence.
That long paperthat looks like a Xerox copy from the 80s that’s 70ish pages long… that’s what was presented to a judge.

The successful restraining order was part of the circumstance and evidence used to scrutinize the validity of the civil case. This is a case of the process being willfully and cunningly used against you unfortunately.
Also unfortunate is there is no consistency between jurisdictions as to how stringent the filing process is. In either case it’s sad to see the legal system abused.
Filing for one and having them granted are completely different animals.
Sometimes I get the impression that the women who are like this actually believe they are ‘in’ with the men when they go along with it. They have no clue that men who demean women have no more real respect for them than they do the women they are victimizing.
Sure, theyll USE them…and then talk about them behind their backs the same way they do their victims.
Ive had to walk away from guys I knew and grew up with later in life when they made it obvious they were womanizing pigs. The man who raised me was one of the biggest male chauvinist pigs that ever existed. When I was in my early 20s I cut off all ties to him over it. The man disgusted me as a kid and when I finally could get him out of my life it was such a blessing.
He was an embarassment. Having people know that this was the pig who I was raised by. Nauseating.
This has ZERO to do with the game, but the ‘woke’ crowd doesn’t do logic, facts and truth.
They do ‘feelings’.

You’d be surprised. This suit would have been taken seriously in some courts back in the ‘80s. Just google the McMartin preschool trial.
That long paper is the case after being filed. That long paper doesn’t exist unless reasonable circumstance and evidence is presented as part of the filing to determine if the case has merit to be filed.
Bottom line and then I’m done with this topic:
One cannot simply walk into the county clerk and file this particular case with little or no evidence in hand and expect it to make it past the first floor processing.
It’s like siding with a bully in hopes it doesn’t happen to you. And in some cases, I believe this is true, but in most cases-- They really honestly believe this. This is how they were brought up. Women=Bad, Men=Good.
