How does it work in that game? AFAIK no one actually plays that game. They pay a monthly fee to train skills that accumulate over time.
Maybe every now and again, they go mine in a safe area, or go gank some noob with bad skills and a terrible ship. That’s no different than ganking lowbies in outland.
Once every few years, the whales throw away some of their ships they bought in an epic battle. Probably sponsored by the devs unofficially for PR.

ya no, i played for a couple weeks. it’s dull… half the time you’re just looking at space background images as you go from 1 place to another.
if there’s a catchup mechanic it’s probably p2w too

I know wpvp has existed in WoW Classic because of how much I’ve participated in it. That poster should roll on Whitemane Era and then he can go ahead and say wpvp doesn’t exist. It’s rampant there (that won’t happen).
So yeah that’s all I’m saying. I’m not going to stop calling out what I want to.

90% of the time that I’m accused of trolling I’m being absolutely sincere.
The one thing WoW has taught me is that there are no mind readers, no matter how self-righteous people are.
This is what I’m dreading. I just learned that they’re planning to make the PvP event in Ashenvale layered, and you can end up winning the event even if your layer is losing, kinda like how wintergrasp worked in WotLK Classic. This is exactly what I don’t want. If hundreds of people want to participate in the PvP at once, then so be it. I would rather try and PvP with 5 frames per second and tons of lag than do more of this participation trophy bull crap.
I’m tired of Blizzard always introducing a new PvP feature that seems like WPvP on the surface, but then it turns out to be essentially just another instanced battleground. They made this mistake with Wintergrasp. The zone was an instance, so you couldn’t even just show up and participate. You had to queue just like a typical BG and then get ported there. If you weren’t in the queue you couldn’t even be in the zone while the event was happening. Wintergrasp should have been entirely non-instanced, with no queues, and no scheduled/timed events. The new Ashenvale needs to be this way. The event should not be time restricted. Meaning there should be no deadline to complete it, and there should be no waiting period that forces you to stop participating or wait to participate as if you’re waiting in a queue for WPvP.

I just hope they manage faction balance on realms somehow. Limit transfers, remove it completely. Launch with less realms? I don’t know, but we need some sort of “flee” protection.
That is a well founded and valid criticism. Whenever the PvP event begins that layer should be “Locked” until a victor is determined, that way people cant just ask for an inv to win layer
I’ve never been much of a PvP’er. Even after they launched the OG battlegrounds it was not something I was ever really interested in. SoD however has got me excited to try out wpvp.

Yeah I found that kind of hilarious as I’m both a keyboard turner and clicker yet between OG and classic I’ve MTed every HM boss up until the end of wrath. It’s almost as if there’s some other factors that matter more than someone clicking a skill occasionally or using A to turn while hitting 2 3 4 1…
I wish Blizzard all the luck in achieving something they’ve never managed to do properly (or many other devs honestly).
