Since we are level capping in phases, it WOULD be neat for them to phase town guard levels too, to encourage opposing factions to raid towns, instead of just getting wiped by high level guards.

Literally no open pvp-dedicated zone has ever been a long term fun time. Wintercrap, Tol Bad, Trashran, I could just go on and on, and the lot of you think, oh this time Blizz is bringing their best hidden recipe for a dedicated PvP open zone!

If there is a way to cheesify this for rewards for as little PvP as possible, people will do it. The actual PvP? It will be giant zerg-fest trains where the only reason you die is because you were randomly selected by more than 1 person simultaneously to die at any given moment.
The best organic, world pvp, is and always has been the vanilla open world. No objectives. No rewards. Just pure unadulterated thirsts for blood.
This is putting aside what is likely going to be absolutely pants-on-head balance, there’s no shot they’ve tested any of this in PvP because one wandering thought about how nightmarish it will be makes me ill.

I don’t know about those other wpvp zones, but Ashenvale was first and foremost a questing hub with a dungeon, and now it is still a questing hub with a raid instance.
So there will be lots of traffic in Ashenvale besides the pvp event. So between people going to raid, people questing, and doing the event, I can see lots of bleed-over pvp just going on all over the place.
I’m not saying pvp won’t happen. Obviously it will.

well poop. yeah, alterac valley looked really neat on paper. too bad what it turned into. I never did the other ones you mentioned. (never got past vanilla, with a little bc, and tiny wrath).

What do you think world pvp in Vanilla was? Before bgs it was the same giant zergfest and ganking. After bgs it was just ganking. A little Blackrock fun mixed in.
Imagine the Dev’s trying to change this via a seasonal server where changes can be made for the next season.

I have always had fun in AV. Loved it for years and still do. Much more fun in its original form than the piece of junk they turned it into in TBC and WOTLK.
But yeah, Ive had so much fun in AV over the years. You guys are some tough critics.
Wintergrasp was so much fun. I was on a fairly balanced server early on but by the end it was alliance dominated. I usually had a very high stack of that buff. I’d destroy the alliance. I’d still lose, but it was a blast.
Too bad they turned it into a cross-realm bg in Wrath Classic. They’ll do the same to TB.
