Hunter Pets, what do you like?

On my dwarf hunter I have the slime. Last day before it got patched that you could get it I tamed it. I wish crocs were still tenacity. I don’t want to stop using it, but ferocity does not hold aggro very well.

There’s a whole section on mechanical pets. Goblins and Gnomes start off with the ability to tame them while other races have to get a book that’s crafted by Engineering.

I only take boars. Dead boars, Helboars, Normal Boars.

Hati….that is all you need.

Death comes. And it wears a fez…

I do like my mechanical pets on engineer based hunters. adds the who whole man and machine thing. Well elf in my case, not man.

My draenei hunter has one too, called him Tremor after the old movie.
I don’t get it out much though.

Also, it kills me when the wolves, cats and bears shrink when you tame them. I want a giant wolf running next to me dangit.

The Chimera are the best. The cast a 5-second movement slow on a 10-second timer, that means anyone you put your Chimera on are movement slowed 50% of the time. Team up with another Hunter with a Chimera and you can movement slow 1-person %100 of the time without ever using Concussive Shot. Additionally, when you are doing anything team-based you can lust (Primal Rage) your group or raid regularly and that’s a huge contribution to a team. I can’t count the number of times me being able to regularly lust has gotten us out of binds and especially in long Epic Battlegrounds.

Took me weeks to get Arcturis back in the day… now he’s up literally any time I go there.

Also, I love the new night saber and sentinel owl models, they’re great with my nelf hunter.

My Hunter (not Miriel; Miriel is my Banker), is MM and I love Cunning Pets; Master’s Call is great!

I use a Great Macaw atm, graphics are beautiful and the colour matches my new Sylvanas Murloc.

My main Pet has been Olm the Wise. He has been by my Hunter’s side for many, many years. (He’s a non-exotic Specral Owl.)

I’m really all about boars on my hunter. I know the type of animal you use isn’t as important as it once was (Boar traditionally made a strong tank). I just really like them and have a wide array of boars on my hunter.

I love my fluffy wolf for the company and the rage. :wolf:

Hyenas are one of my top favorites. One of my favorite animals IRL, and their model update treated them wonderfully. They’re so damn cute!

The red dogs from Blackrock Mountain also look so, so cute and amazing now. Top tier good boys with cute, boopable snoots.

History wise, though I haven’t played BM since Legion, I still have a soft spot in my heart for Skoll. That was the Spirit Beast that started Hunters for me. I saw someone in Dalaran with it, one of the first on my server to tame it, and knew I wanted one. I had a Hunter around level 30 at the time, and not long later, that Hunter was at 80.

I spent six month camping Skoll in the middle of Wrath, a then-high pop server. So many Hunters, so many people fake-calling when the last tame or kill had been. So many hours spent camping out by that little manhole spot above the Vrykul village, doing errands but never out of sound range for my computer.

Then late one night, a guildie who already had Skoll invited me to a group and started yelling at me to hurry to him. I rush over and bam- there he is. The gorgeous lightning wolf himself. Turns out, my guildie had been camping Skoll when he had the time because he knew how badly I wanted it.

To this day, that now long-abandoned Hunter has his Skoll with him. Skoll will always be my favorite pet.

Depends on situation and mood. On my dwarf up in Northrend a polar bear feels good. While in parts of East Kingdom, regular brown bear. While in Pandaria, a tiger. During Hallow’s End spectral/spirit pet. It all depends on mood and where I am at.

Enjoy!

Big pets can be cool, but they always get in the way.

I tend to prefer cat/dog pets. Hyenas, lions, panthers, tigers, hounds, wolves, etc. I also really like the zandalari sabertusks, my troll hunter has two named taz and dingo =p

Spirit Beasts. Lord I put so much time in getting them on my hunter

That’s another benefit of the Chimera that people overlook. The wingspan of a Chimera covers your target so anyone trying to click on them and throw them a heal will click on the Chimera because it’s covering the target completely. No other Hunter pet does this.

Just tamed myself an A-Me 02! It was not easy. This thing scales to one’s level and was able to two-hit me. I had to slowly kill him from afar so as at about 30% health I was capable of taming him.

Bears are my favorite. I tend to stick to a white one on Thorland because we match. Also blends in with the snow of Dun Morogh.

Alright so gather around for the tale of young huntress and the famed spectral cat.

This is my first real charater. A roommate played and I decided I’d like to dive in. This was before the four aniversery since I have that acheviment so during Wrath. After discovering the mana wyrms weren’t tameable(and I was highly upset they couldn’t be tamed) I turned to the great google to find a nice looking pet. There I found it. A site dedicated to them. The beautiful and magestic ghost saber. I knew then and there I needed one.

So I figured out where they could be found and started the great journey from Silvermoon to Darkshore at level 18 or 19. There was a great wall in my way in the form of Ashenvale with it’s level 25+ mobs and me with no clue where to go and no mount yet. I got chased down a few times that’s for sure. It became easier as I finally found my way to Darkshore. I got to the ruins, managed to summon one of the beautiful cats and I was too low a level. D’oh. Luckily the ruins were full of Naga back then and I had been taking them down to hunt for statues so it didn’t take too long to get that level I needed. A few more statues and finally amother spawned. I tamed the beauty and named her Faze. She became my loyal companion in my journey to level 80.

Sadly once I got to 80 there were a few neat new pets avalible, the coveted Spirit Beasts. I managed to get Loque, Skoll, sever first Articus. Then I started to learn to raid and needed to get a wolf(the Vagurl Blighthounds, the runed dog, were in the wolf family at the time. It was a very sad day when they got lumped in with the dog family. I still have mine from those early raiding days. His name is Gytrash) and I want to say I had to get a ravager. Some op raid ability for that time, I forget. I just remember a strong hate for them. That’s five pets, why was that a problem? You could only store four pets and have one out for a total of five. It was a very painful call but I needed to set my dear Faze free. I did very much regreat it.

This is a happy story though. With the new expantion to come us hunters were given a huge gift. 25 glorious stable slots, five of them you could call at any time. Faze could come home. I made the journey back to the ruins and logged out flying above them the night before Cata dropped. When I logged back in I snagged some statues and retamed my beloved Faze. She’s been with me ever since.

I have an oil stained wolf, I have the grub model that was accidently tameble in MoP. I have collected many spirit beasts. I did the pained challenge tames of Skarr and Deth’tilac and level. I even have the new Deepgilder form Naj. Faze is still my favorite after all this time. Every new expantion when leveling and exploring she joins my side again and we continue our journey in a new world.

TL;DR: The ghost saber. I and very attacted to this bunch of pixels.
