This is pretty clear about the fact there was an unintentional 32.5% buff yesterday.
This might come as a shock to you, but bear with me.
If theyâre overperforming in Single Target and barely keeping up on M+, you can do things to nerf Single Target damage that wonât blanket 25% nerf M+ where theyâre already struggling in.
Incorrect.
The bug was that they forgot they had an additional flat multiplier on pet specials when they swapped to the standard weapon damage formula.
They are (now) intentionally scaling with weapon damage.
This needs to be more clear though. How/what gave our pets a 32.5% increase? Was it just adding weapon scaling? That seems odd to me.
Also what is the timeline, I raided yesterday evening, was my damage boosted then? If so, that means itâs still a nerf. Because tomorrow when I raid, I wonât be top of the charts any more.
There is no proof that the âaccidentalâ boost pushed Hunters to the top of the DPS charts. Yea they hit harder but nowhere near other DPS classes. Blizzard just did not want Hunters to be that strong because they are so many of them.
Hunter. Bottom DPS. For All Time. Always. ;D
The amount of people in this thread that donât understand that if the bug made them overperform in ST but made them viable in AoE, the fix should be lowering single target damage, not a blanket 25% nerf to all damage.
Yâall worry me.
So you are a narcissist then? Well thanks for clarifying always had my suspicionsâŚ
Doesnât seem to be no, earliest I saw people talking about it was around 7 and a half hours ago. So for all intents and purposes you probably wonât notice a difference at all
Do you admit youâre wrong on this yet?
The swapping to scaling with weapon damage was accidental they decided they liked the change and want to keep it,
but either way we mostly agree what happened and why the nerf is happening
Again, is the patch live or not?
Thanks for the information.
The good thing to come from this: BM might actually scale better now.
The speed in which you reply tells me your just itching to fight and troll people on the interwebs. Bro your actually sad. Get a grip. I tried to disengage, stop responding to me plz.
I need wrong people to know theyâre wrong, yes.
But you already said youâll stop replying and thatâs just as good.
Bye.
Classic narc logic. Gotta prove something.
Enjoy the BM changes
You are not properly understanding how pet damage was calculated before.
As of two days ago, the formula for Kill Command was Attack power * 1.29 * 1 * 1 * 1 * 1 * 1 * (1 + Versatility) * 1.07
.
See that extra 1.29? Thatâs a bonus coefficient they had included, because pet damage didnât scale with weapon damage. Pet damage only scaled with AP.
After this change, the formula was something more like this:
Attack power * 1.29 * 1 * 1 * 1 * 1 * 1 * (1 + Versatility) * 1.07 * (1 + WeaponDamageCoefficient)
Adding WeaponDamageCoefficient
worked to about a 32.5% buff in overall damage. This hotfix is now changing the 1.29
to 1.04
.
In practice, this should be a small buff for anyone with a weapon over ~450 ilvl.
This is the correct takeaway.
Also that everything pet related is a spaghetti mess of legacy code held together with hopes, dreams, and duct tape.
This is literally not what happened. You are saying words that are the opposite of facts. The letters you type represent a universe other than this one. You are describing an eventuality that never eventuated.
How else could it be put, do you think?
So Some classes get free passes and get to be meta for months and seasons up until they get title. but as soon as hunters are seen as âOkayâ they get nerfed to the ground. It just makes someone feel really discouraged getting picked to raid mythic and do keys higher than 24s on a class they love. to now everyone will decline every hunter from seeing this notice. Thank you Blizzard. Thank goodness iâm learning other classes Rip
