so you made it to the part where I talked about a difference in perception, a way to calculate the math, and update to a tooltip, and about a 3% difference from exactly what they did?
DUDE READ, I’m not even complaining about reining in the damage a little bit.
The bug has nothing to do with Aug effecting BM, the bug is that while changing how logs handle pet damage they made pets scale with weapon attack power
They accidentally buffed them by allowing augmentation to give them more damage than intended.
INSTEAD OF FIXING THAT INTERACTION, they blanket nerfed.
Again, I DON’T EVEN PLAY BM. However, the fact you and so many others lack proper logic is disturbing to me. This is not an acceptable change in the least. You should not be praising Blizzard for a blanket nerf.
Yeah man, i dont raid so i didn’t experience the ST bug.
But in m+ i was generally being up there or slighty above good players, no idea how things are gonna go after this, i guess ill see when i run my 18 wcm.
Absolutely not the same difference unless you think only hunters with an aug on their team are allowed to equip a weapon, the bug was literally making pet damage scale with weapon attack power. Again literally the only reason Aug is even mentioned in the post is because they were changing how logs attributed damage from pets
You have quite literally no idea what you are talking about. When they fixed augmentation evoker combat hooks yesterday for Warcraft Logs, that process ALSO BUFFED pet abilities by ~30%.
Maizou, I have a lot of things I could say about your penchant for misinformation, but alas I’m currently typing this on my phone while walking through a busy train station. So I’ll keep it simple:
You didn’t read the initial post and you’re missing an important part of the sequence. There was the Aug log problem, and then when they tried to fix it they accidentally buffed pet damage by about 30%. The 25% nerf is a correction to that.
The pet damage formula changed from BaseDamage+(AP*coefficient) to BaseDamage+((AP*APcoefficient)*(WeaponDamage*WeaponDamagecoefficient)).
Prior to the hotfix, the coefficient was hardcoded much higher than other abilities, because those abilities didn’t scale from weapon damage. Since they now do scale from weapon damage, and the coefficient was way higher than it should have been before, the overall damage of pet specials was significantly higher than it was prior to the Augvoker hotfix.
The lack of logical reasoning with a simultaneous ability to imply nothing you said is disturbingly high in the general population. I don’t even blame Blizzard for the fuzzy explanation anymore, this is the conversation our player base deserves apparently. This is life now
BM is probably gonna level out fine when tier is to the masses. People just can’t see the big picture.
