Hunter Chat Thread and Lounge

It’s such a relief that it will make the next attempt easier for me, because I’m not sweating getting it done. Lol

I think the Sire fight is a good illustration of how borked Hunters can feel sometimes.

Blizzard makes a class with a pet and then designs content the pet can’t maneuver through. Ranges adds that I can’t effectively damage with half my dps unable to reach. And even if I put my pet on the boss and use spells without the pet attack macro in the adds, my second pet stands there looking at the add while my main pet is on the boss.

Pets getting stuck on Pillars or unable to path to bosses, even if the boss is 6 inches from them. Sometimes they can jump down and sometimes they run around and sometimes they are just stuck.

If a mob can run up a cliff to eat my face, why can’t my pet transport to my side?

And yes, there is always MM but that is not the point. The point is that they make a class where it’s basic function of being a pet class doesn’t work half the time. I don’t play Shaman or Lock but they don’t seem to have the same issues.

Fortunately my group is so melee heavy we have Venthyr rogues and Pallys the do the ranged adds and I use my WS on the boss and melee adds now. Lol. How borked is that?

I’m a bit worried about the Sylvanas fight next patch for that exact reason, actually.

No spoilers, but there are some mechanics I’m not sure will be pet friendly or not.

Which simply makes no sense at all. The fight drops a bow but BM hunters won’t be welcome in the fight because it isn’t “pet friendly”. I just don’t get it. Ah well

More reason to go animal companion so when you jump platforms your main pet has a friend to keep it company while it stays and dies on the old platform.

I just don’t see how Blizz keeps making this mistake. We only have over a decade of information telling us this happens every time. You’d think there would be some sort of fix by now.

So, been playing my priest some more. In the span of about 24 hours I got him from 196 Ilevel to 210. He’s now running +10s with zero issues and has done a few 12+ dungeons!

Has been a nice change of pace healing on him.

Traitor!

Pff, I still main my hunter! Have since 04!

Only way I would consider maining another class is if they were to stick an updated ranged survival into a new class or something.

Now that people are thoroughly used to Outlaw, it’s scheduled for another complete revamp, right?

Hey man, as you’ve noted before… monkey’s paw.

That doesn’t mean we try to encourage it, you monster D:

Lmao. You know this would be how they “solve” it.

God I hope not, but it is absurd almost how (un)naturally it’d meet expectations.

Makes sense…

The class built around the use of ranged weapons can’t have RSV because it’s “too similar to MM”.

Dev: “Hey! Let’s add the old SV to another class, then we’ll have a unique and intriguing choice for Hunters in said other class. Let’s go with Rogue…”

Other dev: “Hmm, yeah we should probably remove Assassination or Subtlety because they are too similar to one another anyway. Besides, Rogues could equip ranged weapons in the past, so it’s like we’re going back to their roots, with making one spec focus on ranged weapons!”

Insert Gun Slinger spec

Speaking of class melds, the “Rogue” spec in Diablo 4 looks perfect for a hunter spec in wow lol.

I remember pets bugging out in … TBC when it was current, they’d get stuck on rocks and what not all the time, so insanely frustrating. But yes the whole platforms thing is going to be interesting lol.

When I played Classic there were pathing issues for mobs and pets which was fairly consistent and could even be used to your benefit. I’m ok with that.

However, when mobs can shimmy up a ledge and through a crack to smack my face while my pet is apparently standing next to them but “there is no path” through a stupid bush or something and when I disengage away and run down a mountain and across a field and my pet appears and says “hey, where you going?”…well, let’s just say I could make a trucker blush. Lol

I totally forgot to reply back to this! Honestly, I don’t miss those days where pets would get stuck on a rock, a tree branch, a particularly unruly patch of dirt, etc.

It was just an overall frustrating experience and I still get annoyed when my pets occasionally bug out!

In other news, I finally got Keystone Master last night on my hunter!
