My casual group downed Normal Sylvannas last night! Only took 3 attempts which was unexpected. Fortunately, we had a few people that had done it before so it was a bit smoother.

No bow, but that’s not unexpected.

My pet was a total dork with the bridges. Also not unexpected.

Im having a little trouble trying to determine the best time to use my WS, but I think I’m just not used to the fight. I need to sit down and look at the timers more closely.

We started working on Heroic Nerzul and I kinda like that fight though. I definitely like this raid better than CN.

Meant to get back to this sooner (been busy prepping for the Renaissance Festival starting next week!) But that is super cool! Glad you downed her! Heroic is a ton of fun. So far the hardest fights in heroic for our group were painsmith and fatescribe. The nerzhul fight in particular was a lot of fun imo.

I’m just very pleased we can progress at our own pace with no raging or abusive behavior allowed and genuinely enjoy the process.

It’s a shame some players don’t get to experience this.

Granted, it isn’t all sunshine and unicorn farts. Lol. We have our moments and we progress a lot slower than some are comfortable with, but in the end we work it all out.

I’m very lucky I was one of the many strays that got adopted.

Congratulations to you and your raid group on downing her!

As for me… I’ve had a crazy busy week getting ready for the new school year. Two days filled with meetings (I really am not kidding. County office meeting, then immediately off to the middle school meeting, then high school meeting, then another middle school meeting, before ending with a second high school meeting. And that was just Monday). Today was the first day the students came back.

I live in Northern California. As a matter of fact, I live roughly 20 miles away from the starting point of the Dixie Fire. There’s a lot of wildfires all around us.

So PG&E decided to do power shutoffs for days on end. Their website said my address wasn’t listed in the zones losing power. Alright, cool.

Overnight, my power went off.

Since I am deaf, I depend on specialized alarm clocks that has to be plugged in. Alarm clocks which had been turned off.

Thank goodness my cat woke me up 30 minutes before I had to leave, so I made it to work on time (albeit I missed out on my chance to get in extra prep done before classes).

My cat is so getting extra cuddles tonight. She’s a very good girl!

Damn! That sucks. We’ve had a few wildfires here, pretty close in the past but not recently. Time for something battery operated, since the info you got wasn’t very reliable.

Thank goodness dogs and cats ALWAYS know when it’s mealtime!

The catch is that there is literally no vibrating or flashing alarm clocks for the Deaf which operates solely by battery.

These clocks really are specialized. Mine cost $65 each.

Nope! My cat is one of those cats who would literally ignore their food in favor of more cuddling with their humans.

(It’s a point of stress every time my cat feels sick because she’d turn even more clingy and starve herself until she feels better. Like, she’d lose weight. I’m about halfway through with training her to eat whenever I’m sitting by her while at her food bowl and petting her.)

So she woke me up for cuddles. Not for food.

Wow. Then you are very lucky indeed.

Well, I’m having my cat euthanized at noon today.

I really wish I didn’t have to do this. But she developed a massive tumor in her abdomen very, very suddenly.

Basing on the location, size, and shape of the tumor, the vet is pretty sure she’s got a “very aggressive form of carcinoma.”

The tumor is located at the root of her mesentery, which makes it not resectable.

Considering that my cat’s health really went downhill over the past week — stopped eating, stopped defecating — and that she literally dropped from 12 pounds to 9 pounds (a full fourth of her body weight!) in less than 3 weeks…

Yeah, I made the decision. It ain’t fun, but I know that my cat’s ready to go. She’s 12 years old and always has had health issues. I’m just thankful I’ve gotten those precious few years with her.

But man… this really was a painful and sad decision.

:<. I haven’t been on game or the forums as much the past few weeks. I’m glad I decided to hop on now though. I’m very very sorry for your loss, Water. I know your cat was very sweet to you.

If you want to talk later, feel free to shoot me a message on bnet.

Nice, we’ve got a Ren Faire going on in MI as well, but I think I’m gonna hold off on going this year.

OMG! I just saw this.

I’m so sorry to hear about your Kitty. It looks like you made the right decision, but that doesn’t make it any easier. Letting go is profoundly painful but it is a genuine mercy.

You have my most sincere condolences for your loss. I’m so very sorry.

My condolences on the loss of your beloved cat. You might find yourself dreaming of her more often. I remember this happening to me, fwiw… even years later.

Thank you for your kind words, everybody.

I’m sad, yeah — out of the many pets I’ve lived with, I’ve never had a pet love me as much as Piper did. We had a truly special bond — but I’m not in shock or denial. I’ve known that it was coming for a couple weeks.

I was able to get a home euthanasia, so Piper was able to spend her last day at home with me (my boss let me take the day off from work). I was able to hold Piper in my lap — her absolute favorite place to be — as she breathed her last.

It was a smooth passing away for her, and I’m grateful for that.

But yeah, I miss my fur best friend. She was a very good girl.

Years ago, me and my wife were “gifted” with a Chihuahua puppy. Just what I never wanted.
That changed, changed to me wanting and loving that little dog very much, nothing I had held more value to me except possibly my wife. Her, I cherished, while the dog was precious, precious to both of us. Well, after many years the dog passed. Shortly thereafter, my wife left me. Very sad… It has been years since… but to this day, I find myself making room for that dog on the bed.

In a positive note, I’ve managed to get 4 Flawless level 12s in Torghast, so only 2 more for another death pony mount. Lol. Still running with a rogue and DK and using my Scalehide to tank. Periodically I can manage my AotB build and I just melt stuff.

The really awesome part is it has been discussed in my causal community and there are a bunch of people that struggle with Torghast or simply refuse to go. I’ve been setting up groups and I now run that place 2 to 3 times a week. Lol.

Everyone is doing well AND they are having fun. I’ve been sharing all the tips and tricks I researched and all the help I’ve gotten from these forums.

There are so many advanced players with SoD H on farm, maxed out legendaries, and high level keys in farm, that it’s easy to forget there is a whole section of players that aren’t.

I’m helping some of my raid team with Torghast and they’ve started to help me overcome my fear of Mythics. My rating is awful so don’t bother looking. Lol. One of my raid tanks is learning to tank Mythics and so we ruin (yes, I said ruin) keys together, with no expectation of timing the higher ones. And now I’m the one starting to have fun.

Most of us don’t have a Dom socket bonus yet and I’ve decided to stop worrying about it. It will happen when it happens.

The only this that matters is mounts. Gear comes and goes. Mounts. They last forever.

I’ve been doing similar with my sister and our Dad. Dad loves to do solo challenges, but there’s something about Torghast that he just doesn’t like.

My sister has always hated grinds and solo play. She’d rather run raids, mythical, or PvP.

But! With me, they enjoy their time in Torghast. So I’m slowly teaching them the tricks (I said “slowly,” because Dad is really bad at following instructions. Stop tunnel-visioning, Dad!!).

So far, we’ve managed to get two Adamant Vaults… sadly not at layer 12 yet, though; my Dad and sister are still at layer 11. I got layer 12 unlocked the first week, naturally, but I decided to shift my focus onto them.

I really do like the new version of Torghast. :slightly_smiling_face:

I haven’t been playing a lot as of late. Met someone I’ve been interested in, and have just been busy between other things.

Today was my brother’s birthday though! Went with the family to the Renaissance Festival, was dressed up it too!

I’m glad you all have been enjoying the game still

It sounds like you have a life outside of the game?? How is this possible?

Good luck to you and your new friend and it looks like you are also having fun. Gratz!
