Too bad WPvP, and even all PvP, has been a dud. It is none the less what the community asked for. Even so, the Hunter class has been solid for at least filthy casuals like myself.
No one who’s anyone mains Marksman, so they complain it’s bad in the S-tier department. I’ve only been at it for about five weeks so my opinion will take some time. At a glance, this is the best I’ve seen of Marks post-Legion. It does make Retail worth my time, as a casuel consoomer.
BFA MM was a step in the right direction after Legion’s… extremely poor design… and SL is just another step in the same direction.
I’ve mained MM ever since 2005, and the BFA/SL version feels a lot more similar to Vanilla MM than MoP MM (no matter how much I loved MoP MM — which I did, it’s my favorite MM of all time) — which makes MM’s journey feels like it’s gotten a fresh start.
While MM not be the strongest, DPS-wise, I’ve been perfectly happy with how it plays.
I was a Warlock main and I’ve seen so little in fundamental changes, with Mists being the outlier. I did try out Mage(Arcane would be my favorite spec) and I found that class boring. Warlock is far more engaging in grasping utility. Hunters, from my understanding, had to really know their pet utility. I used to get into arguments about which pet class was harder, but they’re more or less the same difficulty inversely.
But you know what really gets my juices flowing about Hunter? METHODOLOGY. Having a plan A and a plan B. Warlock has gotten too dumb for me. If you gear up and talent correctly, that class can practically play itself. I’m a human, last time I checked. I’m not even so much as a cyborg, that I could “be my own bot”.
But speaking of fresh starts, the elephant in the room is SV becoming a lot more ranged. Should Retail make it to another expansion, we could be seeing something of an entire class overhaul that would even make Legion something of a bad memory.
I was getting killed in H Painsmith due to getting hit by the fireballs and spikes.
The boomkin was “what fireballs? what spikes? They just stun you a little…” It’s kinda funny to see how he just changed to bear form and tank every spike. The only thing that kills him is the rolling balls … and that’s assuming his Pod was already triggered and on cooldown.
I usually use a Spirit beast for the health and minimal heal but I’ve been running my Scalehide for the lust and leech these past 2 weeks. Sometimes we are short on lust.
I’ve been playing with both to see if there is a difference. My mend pet is part of my rotation so I was hoping I’d get more from the leech. It works on Elites.
Theoretically in a raid the healers are taking care of us and we have some good ones but a big AoE damage and I die but the people around me don’t. So I’m super mindful about my health to the best of my ability. I even keep healing and stamina pots on me. Like The Nine, when I get Fragments, they will dispel me first because the damage really chunks me or I die.
The healers have said I’m hard to keep up sometimes, even when it isn’t my fault. I’m sure it’s mostly my fault but I always ask what I can do differently.
If I die because I’m making mistakes, it’s my faults and I learn from it. If I’m dying and they say it was unavoidable damage……well, that makes me sad. I don’t ever remember it being quite this bad
Its tough! Our zoo is awesome and has so many cool themed/regional exhibits. We have a pandaria looking asian exhibit that is really awesome. Our “rainforest” biodome was built in the nineties so its a little dated but still cool.
I think the polar bears and seals are probably my favorites. We used to have a sea world but six flags killed it.
How is the new patch? I havent been able to play as Ive been working non stop (just hoping I can get home in time to close on our home purchase).
Excitingly, before I left, my wife and I reconnected with our old friend and GM and invited he and his daughter to join our family guild. Now we have a full 5man group, so maybe Ill actually do pve content with my 12yo.
The seals at the zoo I went to were great! They are a lot of fun to watch as they swim around, zipping and zooming about in the water, or playfully “standing” (swimming in place).
I feel similarly to ours. Though the pandas were great. When we went, the panda was licking away at a frozen pineapple treat which was super cool!
For raiding, I’ve enjoyed it. Though to be frank, if I wasn’t raiding right now, there’s a good chance I’d be unsubbed. M+ doesn’t have any new dungeons and while the seasonal affix is different, it’s not really enough to hold my attention. Korithia is okay, but I’m notoriously bad at actually doing dailies. Which would leave me with PVP as the only reason, but while I enjoy pvp, there are other games I enjoy pvp for more.
That’s super cool! Glad you’re able to get a full group going now man.
Thats where Im stuck on wow. I like the immersion. I like the world PvP even in the crap state it is in. I like feeling like pvp is more than just a minigame, like my character has as much reason to kill a dwarf as he does 50 zombies. The BGs having flavor that makes them relevant to that fantasy is a huge selling point. The faction conflict being a part of WoW pvp is what makes it better, to me, than GW2.
If GW2 had a more traditional tank/healer/dps trinity, and relevant PvP, Id play the heck out of it… if for no other reason than the unique weapon builds for hunters and warriors.
So, replying to you since I think you’d get a kick out of it at least.
Tonight we made some solid progress in the raid. Downed heroic Fatescribe and Kel’Thuzad, going to work at Sylvanas tomorrow night and try to get AOTC.
But the real victory tonight? Me and my restro shammy buddy finally broke 1800 in 2v2s tonight. We made some serious progress from last week and really tightened a few things up and broke the 1800 barrier. Last time I did that was in Cataclysm when I broke 2200 and mostly pvp’d!
So, we’re going to enjoy our sweet 239 item level upgrades (252 in pvp). It works out since that actually upgrades some of my gear for PVE too lol.
