Hunter Buffs Finally!

SL had the same thing. Remember there is also a special bow from SoD. The bow was also. very good but not as good as the rate bow

Wish theyā€™d move this to the baseline instead of putting it only into MM ā€” ideally accounting for the MS buff, if need be, in the upcoming BM changes.

Would also like to see them buff Carve direct damage so it doesnā€™t feel like solely a WFB CDR GCD while reducing the Butchery CD by maybe a second. But Iā€™m sure Survival will be an afterthought, if thought of at all.

We donā€™t need more damage. We need survivability.

Thanks for running the numbers. The crying from Engineers demanding the LW bow be nerfed too sent me into rage mode yesterday over their stupidity and I had to get off the forums.

Death Chakram and CS damage buffs? lol! These devs must be smoking the good stuff. The rest of the buffs are fine, but the fact that they think buffing two abilities that make up miniscule portions of BMā€™s damage is anything other than meaningless is hilarious.

And KC, and Barbed Shot and Stomp. Someone already ran the numbers in another thread on these forums. BM will see roughly a 16%+ damage increase after the buffs. Which lines up with the current bow providing roughly a 15% DPS increase for BM. Itā€™s not like BM has a whole lot of abilities in our rotation and they are buffing basically every single one we use.

The only part of the buffs that donā€™t make sense is the buff to multi-shot for MM. The effect on the bow buffs single target damage so it doesnā€™t make sense for them to be buffing an ability that is never used in a single target fight.

Very nice little boosts for Hunters.

And all because of an overpowered Bow from the raid.

With the Ras bow nerf yes we need more damage to offset the huge DPS loss from the change, hence why they buffed the damage. We also need a survivability buff. Two things can be true at the same time.

Believe it when i see it

Honestly, I donā€™t feel my bm hunter dps lacking even without the raz bow in the current patchā€¦

use to be better in shadow lands click on mend pet to get some healing as long u used a cat or similar pets

Then you dont play with a lot players that min -max and optimize their dmg. In raid we are decent with fights where we shine. If you as BM are ever topping meters on anything but terros then the other players in your raid just arent as geared or as good. And in mythic plus if youre topping overall meters in high keys without the bow then the players are just bad or just playing specs worse than BM in mythic plus(cant name one atm)

I know a lot of people that feel the same. I would complain about the spec in my guild groups and the response was laughter, because I was always topping meters. Problem is, itā€™s a casual guild with casual players and I was always 10-20 item levels higher than most of the guild. I would be pulling 70k dps and second highest was 55k.

What they didnā€™t see was when I would run harder raid content in groups with similar item levels, where I was either last or close to last on DPS. I was still pulling 70k, but they were all pulling 75-80k dps.

Then I got the Normal Rasz bow and was suddenly 3rd-6th on the meters. The difference was staggering. I went from 70k with a 418 BotDH to 75k with a 405 Neltharax. A week later, I got the 418 Neltharax and now Iā€™m consistently first or second on single target fights.

So yeah, kinda like others have already said. You donā€™t really understand where the spec lies until youā€™re playing with a group of equally geared/skilled players.

Cog, couldnā€™t agree more. Easy to look good when rest of group bad. Easy to look mediocre when playing with equally geared players

Iā€™ve Mained a BM hunter since they turned Survival melee. I am also terrible. I do run some low mythics with friends because ā€œlulz kick bad deeps w/ no 20+ gearā€ in mythics isnā€™t something I wanna spend money to deal with. That said I also play a DH (havoc), DK (unholy). Boomie and occasionally a Demo Lock. In terms of my often st0ned, 50 yr old abilities, the hunter is behind only the DKin terms of survivability, I play vulpera so tricks + exhilaration + scramble/kite and I can be doing damage non stop, move out of swirlies etc. Iā€™m glad to see weā€™re getting some love, not sure I get the survivability issues. Again, low keys so maybe thatā€™s it. /shrug

PS if you are a hunter and youā€™re not using tranq shot at every shield in this god forsaken xpac, youā€™re worse than me and thatā€™s saying something.

Mend Pet has literally never healed the Hunter. Ever.

If you have a Ferocity pet, you used to get the Leech healing (10% of each Mend Pet tick healed the Hunter), but that was it.

Hunter self-healing consists of Exhilaration (and Rejuvenating Winds), Camouflage (out of combat only), and whatever we get via Leech.

Healing our pets for the self healing has been a thing for a long time. The problem is, it seems like they balanced our defensives and self-sustain around this being a thing, then nerfed it. That left Hunters with the worst self-sustain in the game.

Low keys and normal raid I can stay alive. Its the higher keys and heroic raids with unavoidable damage that gets me. I use all my defenses but the next time I need them they are on CD.

This is the first expansion that I have encountered this and it is not fun.

I hope this Mend Pet Leech never returns.

Yeah, Iā€™d think Iā€™d rather not have that, either. What it provided for us in terms of capacity was good, but Leech healing is too gimmicky a means of getting there.
