Besides the other obvious failures (im looking at you trunk mask and wod decor masks) another huge dissapointment was the weapon.
I get non troll players thinking its cool but if u are an actual fan of troll lore and troll culture a two handed sword just makes u got huh? Its the most untroll weapon i dont think ive seen one major troll character fight with a two handed sword.
Theres voljins warglaive, voodoo staffs, axes and bows.
Since blizz is weird about giving warglaives to other races rhat arent night elfs there really is one other perfect solution.
An updated rohkans shadowhunter polearm. His weapon is so cool and we get to see it in action during the heritage quest. Its essentially a large warglaive that has been seen since wod and works very well with trolls polearm animations already.
So why didnt we get an updated polearm like that? I mean u couldve simple made the sword we got into one with a different blade and attached to both sides. Wouldve been an amazing troll only weapon that wouldve made rolling a warrior, monk, or surivial hunter very very very cool.
But no instead i have to watch elfs get warglaive daggers, warglaive swords, a bow and everything else while trolls get an afterthought.

Yes! Something like that is what I was fully expecting, there’s like 5 different trolling glaives to choose from and half of them don’t even look like demon Hunter glaives, there was no excuse no to cough one up here, particularly the one like Rokhans.

Agreed. 2h sword was a really poor choice for a heritage weapon. Maybe they’ll eventually release some more troll-themed weapons? Nah, probably need more elf stuff.

Yeah, for some wild reason the Troll Heritage armor is a 2h sword.
The fact that it isn’t a Bow, Glaive or a Spear blows my mind.

A true testament to how little the designer knew about Troll heritage. Not 1 skull…. Still can’t get over that it’s honestly laughable.

They missed every opportunity on this set, Glaives, skulls, tall back piece, proper cloth mask, proper Rush’kah, Voodoo paraphernalia, Mojo. None of it. They straight up botched every single fundamental piece that makes Darkspear armor what it is. I want names who worked on this?

You’d think, but masks are unusuable. They’re too small and not fit for troll face because it was originally wall decoration.

Yup and it wouldn’t have been an issue either, I bet you anything the reason Elves get glaives and not Trolls is because Elves already have the DH Glaive combat animation. Fun fact Trolls don’t even use that combat animation for their glaives they wouldn’t need to change anything, Rokhan and Vol’jin both strike with their glaives just like regular swords.

Glaive was the obvious choice the only ones that even resemble a DH Glaive are the WC3R Shadowhunter glaive and Vol’Jins glaive. They could have given us any of the other options, clearly whoever made the set wasn’t waiting as long for it as we were, this the was the time to deliver on the Troll wish list and they mist every single thing. Santa Blizz didn’t even give us coal.

I’m pretty sure this asset was Datamined long before they datamined the Heritage set. The sword was probably just thrown in there as scrap, kinda like those 2 masks they gave us that hung on the wall in WoD.

Same here bro, that and the Back Piece. We’ve been biting our nails hoping for a glaive and one of the crazy back pieces from the RTS and book art, for such a long time, what a colossal flop!

Thanks for posting! That angle doesn’t really showcase his glaive but you can kinda see it. What a phenomenal look, just look at that back rig. Puts the new set to absolute shame. Some of those knee pads would have been most welcome! So much of that older model just looks so much better.

That glaive he has is the exact one I was hoping they’d add, such a missed opportunity, you’d think after all their terrible PR Blizz would be jumping for all the easy wins but they’d rather do the bare minimum.

The glaives we’ve been asking for for years should have been such an obvious fan service it’s mind boggling that they completely overlooked it! or maybe hmmm idk an actual Darkspear?? the namesake of the tribe!
