I can say the exact same thing. It’s clear Blizzard doesn’t see your open-world solo content as end-game rewarding more than LFR. Like it’s been pointed out going from Heroic to Normal and now LFR should show you the direction they have been headed. You are able to complete every open-world content with the progression path provided. You do not need Normal raid gear to do it. You keep bringing up this false equivalence of M+ getting loot, but guess what, M+ is actually challenging and not completely brain dead.
Why not? You just told somebody who said they don’t raid because they don’t like hanging out with jerks that they should raid anyway. That’s kind of a lame position to take for someone who doesn’t raid themselves.
Alright, you got 1 or 2 items per week, that had no duplicate protection. Compared to the potential 3 items per day now in ZM, or being able to buy from a vendor (in DF).
So in this version, the N’zoth invasion items were the vault, and the actual world quests were the end of dungeon runs.
Eh, Argus was 910 base, with LFR dropping 915-925. Broken shore was 880 base, with LFR starting at 885.
Maybe because of expectations, like queued content is still meant to be done as a group, where as people have gotten to the point that they expect to be able to “solo” (as in either completely solo or just share tags) at some point that they could reach no matter what content they did.
Nope, they aren’t random at all. For one, there is no true random number generator. Second you cannot divorce you from you. Third, the matchmaking algo isn’t as simple as tossing people together. Especially not one made by a company that owns the patent on using matchmaking to manipulate people into micro transactions.
So you are openly admitting that open world players got used to participation awards. You also mentioned that they come to expect it so that also means they feel entitled to it.
It’s clear that Blizzard is self-correcting the broken faucet of loot pouring out with the adjustment of M+ and solo-content.
huge nerf to solo/outdoor gear progression in DF season 1 - My reaction:
don’t get me wrong, the gear that is outside in the world is fine, and you shouldn’t be rewarded max gear for doing nothing but killing 10 bees and collecting honey. You might not like it but wow is an MMO until it is said other wise. It can lean, act, look, pretend to be solo play but it is not.
Find some friends, play some end game stuff and get the rewards that are suited for your level: And feel good about it!
I am also saying that the world content gear is enough if the content is done as it is “meant to be done” I.E. even in full LFR gear you are still likely to need/want at least a partner for rare farming or group WQs.
My question might be more what about those that come in late, as in after a lot have done the content and gotten everything, or they play at times when their server (or wind up in a shard) that is dead.
So what do you want then? Outdoor gear for solo play? We’ve got that already. Does the ilvl even matter? No. But these threads make a huge deal about it and then when presented with a plethora of options you guys turn your nose up at it. So w/e, you have the options use them or don’t.
