Huge nerf to solo/outdoor gear progression in DF Season 1

Crafting.

If you want to stay in warmode, there’s also a full conquest quality set for you to earn.

So you are saying, i should not be able to earn “normal raid” ilvl gear at all? Seeing i am willing to put in hours a day to get it in a couple months? While raiders, and M+ players will have theirs within 2 weeks while putting in what, 3-6 hours a week raiding?

Give me a break.

I will also not be forced into their disjointed, butcherized crafting system. They made it so overly complicated, you will need a 30 page tutorial just to understand it.

Hate to say it, but the crafting system in FFXIV is far better than what we are getting.

We are saying that the current version where you craft base normal +3 items is fine, and does not need changes.

Well, that’s where you normal raid gear for solo players is. This statement isn’t you not having access to it, it’s you declining to try and get them.

If you choose not to engage in the systems that have been in place for years then you are abdicating any claim to them during the time that they’re relevent. Come back after 2 expansions and enjoy the legacy content.

And to be perfectly clear, I am not a world first mythic raider or a big dick RBG pvper. I’m a middling player that took a year off from the game, came back in early october and got as far as I have by doing lfr, normals, keys, time walks and Zereth content. I didn’t even no life this either, I’ve leveled 3 characters to 60 and got them all to varying states of readiness for the expansion.

Like this toon of mine is 280.

If I can do this someone that puts “3-6 hours a day” into it has no real excuse for not getting to this level.

And how do you propose casuals afford this, with the utter lack of gold from activities in Dragonflight? Supposing, of course, that they are actually casuals and don’t have twelve accounts to bot gatherers on so they can actually craft realistically, or enough time for endless hours of sweaty 4x2 hyperspawn camping to make money to buy mats with.

It’s just another scheme to sell tokens.

Crafting and conquest.

Thats your choice. I dont really care what you do. If you choose to be anti social thats your decision. However you are playing a game thats main focus is group content.

Scroll up.

THIS!! I have been trying to craft decent gear for a month in beta, and the stuff required for “normal raid” ilv gear is restricted because you need to do group content to even craft some of the lower than normal raid ilvl stuff!

There is not going to be great gold making in DF, because of the idiotic 3 levels of gathered materials. To get anywhere in the crafting system, you need to play the game like the leets, and thats sad as heck.

The same way everyone else does?

Stop trying to pretend that all casuals are bad at the game.

Theres this thing called a guild…

Are you really coming at me again with this nonsense? Did you really learn nothing from this morning?

If they had the capacity for learning they’d understand the absurdity of their position.

Level up the crafting yourself, do work orders for other players. you get to make gold from that. Earning gold can easily be a solo activity.

Theres also the tried and tested method of mog farming; on a good day you can make 20k from big ticket items and bulk sales.

Let me ask you, how long have you been playing this game?

Because up until DF, this game was all about “playing the game the way you want”, and you got the appropriate rewards for doing so. The nerf to the invasion gear was in no way warranted, period. They could have left it as is.

After doing instanced content for 3/4 of the life of this game, i want to just chill, and have a power progression path that helps me out in the content they play. Open world content progression was ALWAYS a priority in this game. I know, ive been here since the dang beginning!

You have your path, yet want to deny mine, that affects you in ZERO ways.

Now scoot off and go chain run you 2000th M+!

Now the bullies/gatekeepers are talking among themselves lmao!

Or just farm and sell mats. Most commissions will be lower if you provide all the materials.

And this is still true. Even at 385, they are better than anything you can currently get in the open world in Wrath classic. They are on par with what you could get in the open world in Legion baseline.

If you just Want to chill that’s fine, you can get the gear that’s given to you for chill content.

Besides which it isn’t like this game suddenly lost some 4th route to gear that was there since 2004; very rarely has there been routes to high level gear and it almost always came with requirements that you be geared up from group content to handle it.

Heck, if anything it’s actually gotten easier for you oh mighty grind lord, since crafting is apparently going to be a huge thing for you.

Basically the only time you got powerful gear from the open world was when they let the PvP gear system interact with the open world. And it does in DF, in a buffed form specifically for players who like world PvP.

which is still group content for the most part since you can’t really solo your way to that kind of gear without either an excessive timesink or mass combat.

No, the only time that this was really a thing was visions in 8.3, and good luck getting those done in world quest gear.
