Huge nerf to solo/outdoor gear progression in DF Season 1

Especially true with tier set bonuses.

You already have access to normal raid level gear. By asking for BETTER gear you are asking for heroic/mythic level gear.

Not my fault you cant comprehend htings.

Eh, it makes sense to balance the game around the level that is more sensitive to class balance.

The level where by far the vast majority of players play is more sensitive to player skill differences than class balance differences

Nobody’s bullying anyone, we’re stating the fact that the game isn’t and shouldn’t be built as a single player expierience beyond a certain point.

Like, the equivalent position Would be that a day laborer should get paid as much as a doctor or a lawyer despite the latter having invested far more time and effort into their job.

I would actually expand this to say that the game isn’t, shouldn’t, and never has been built as a primarily single player experience.

Not really. It’s the usual troll/flame bait that is always posted by the OP, followed up by the usual trolls/alts that so feverishly dislike MMO’s structured in any way that doesn’t conform to how they want to play.

Blizzard has been pretty clear with their decisions. WoW is a better experience when played with others. Makes sense
because it’s an MMO.

That isn’t a put down?

We have someone in here, for an example, that claims to be in their 40s - acting like a physco man child for an ancient rated T video game!

People need to come back to reality

You may not have intended it to be viewed as such, but it can reasonably be viewed as such.

I won’t fight that. I’ve got to work on how I address things.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I was under the impression that the ilvls were lowered by 10 across the board for everything.

Was I misinformed? Haven’t had time to test, sadly.

i came late to the game but i never noticed any gear in Torgast a lot of ash and stigia that i couldn’t do anything with unless i made a legendary which of course i didn’t. kind of a waste of time. Maybe I came to late and all the good gear drops were gone. As a repatable dungeon type thing it was fun but you really had to come in prepared for it otherwise it was a nightmare. I didnt grow stronger doing it, i had to grow stronger then do it. Not much fun there.

Gear in torghast was a feature of the beta, that was removed when they removed the timer.

Which adds to the list of things that showcase Blizzard’s pattern of where they feel solo-progression content should end.

don’t buy the expansion when it comes out or before. JUst wait six months that will all change. If you go into the expansion now you will have lost all you borrowed power there will be a lot of nerfs in place. The only difference between you in a starting zone and the expansion is you will still have some type of rotation so you wont get too bored with auto hit.

well that was too bad it might have been fun, whole place is kind of a waste now. They need to figure out what to do with the 95% of the content they have that no one uses

People complained about the timer, so they removed the gear and the timer.
People complained that it was too hard in S1, so it got a massive nerf.
People complained that it was the only way to gain legendaries, which are viewed as mandatory, so they added the ZM soul ash/cinders bag.

Did you not play WoW during 9.1? Gear from the Maw and Korthia could start off at 200 iLvl and be upgraded all the way to 233 iLvl. Why is this not progression?

Even in WoW, some players do outdoor content over the course of weeks and months and earn better gear over time. This is a reality whether you accept it or not.

This is not true for all players. Many players do open world content for gear rewards and never step foot in M+, raids, or PvP. This is a reality whether you accept it or not.

Your character is going to die against even basic quest mobs if they just auto attack, especially if your character is in lower iLvl gear or is a caster type. This is a reality whether you accept it or not.

The maximum iLvl you can achieve from open world content has been decreasing relative to other sources for several patches in a row now. This is a reality whether you accept it or not.

WoW game developers typically include a new outdoor zone in major patches that you can only participate in at max-level, so endgame clearly includes open world content and gear upgrades. This is a reality whether you accept it or not.

Because gear is the thing that allows you access to more difficult content. If you don’t do difficult content, gear is like farming timewalking badges, while refusing to use the timewarlking vendor. You are progressing in terms of a random number in your UI and nothing more.

Yes, people sometimes do very silly things to see numbers go up. That doesn’t mean we should make the numbers go up easier.

Yes, some players don’t do difficult content, and therefore don’t need any gear.

Yes, you might die to a quest mob if you get a bunch of them on you while you are afk.

Gear is the key to harder content. If you are not interested in harder content, you went from not doing harder content to continuing to not do harder content. Just place a sticker on screen with a higher number, you will still be able to do every content you want.

Yes, because there are many players that buy the game, reach max level, explore for a while and stop playing. There are also many players that like exploring the new zones. The gear that drops from the zones is enough for them to do all open world content without dificulty. But the real goal of the gear is to be a stepping stone for people to get into harder content, for alts, to fill slots that haven’t dropped yet, etc. The point of the outdoors gear drops is not to increase an arbitrary meaningless number on the player’s ui.

If you like high numbers and don’t like challenge, go get achievments, farm gold, farm reputation and just forget about item level. You don’t need it.

And it was completely ignored for the entire expansion. If it wasn’t for burying legendary mats in it, nobody would have done it at all.

Again incentives matter.

Carry on with spewing vitriol at everyone you consider lesser players. You guys really are a showcase of the toxic culture of the wow community.

Where in DF is that located for us world players without doing normal mode raids?

I would rather grind crap for months, than group with toxic players in a normal raid. Stopped doing normal, or any raids after WoD. Had enough of that crud from beginning of 2005, up until then.

When you find it, let me know. I will be waiting lol.
