Not that I can recall, but I would not put it by them, especially since there is nothing like visions or torghast to tunnel players into at DF launch.
Good time to just go and run a key then.
What I donât understand is why players who complete difficult content are afraid of regular shlubs having a long path to getting similar gear.
Like, you got decked out in 2 weeks while the shlubby guy took upwards of 3 months.
Why are you scared?
You and Schuyler are the only ones who are bringing fear into the equation. Would you like it if they made an item that reduced all world mob HP and damage by 20% for you, but made it exclusively earned through pet battles?
You keep repeating this non-sense argument about people being âafraidâ. It isnât anyone being afraid. Do you think if you repeat it enough that it will eventually be true?
Itâs about the Blizzard respecting playerâs progression. If someone or a guild works hard to clear Normal raid all season then they should be at a higher point than someone who just kills open-world mobs and rares.
Arenât pet battles a non-instanced activity?
Iâm sure players would have fun with that.
You have such a path.
Complete difficult content.
Shouldnât they also respect playersâ time and dedication to that character?
Why are you specifically afraid of a non-raider having good gear?
I am afraid, Iâm afraid they change the game to general forum version of the game.
Another baseless argument. Time alone means nothing. Killing 100,000 rats doesnât mean anything and should not lead to Normal or Heroic level loot.
Any time you use the word âafraidâ or âfearâ, I am just going to ignore it. It was already addressed multiple times.
You can ignore your fear and thatâs okay; but you should look inward to, at least, address it.
You should choose a path that provides the level of gear you feel like you deserve.
It seems that you fear players getting gear that you believe they donât deserve.
Do I have it right?
What causes you to lose sleep over such a prospect? Inequity exists around the world; rich people have things they donât deserve.
Off-topic. Come back when you actually have a point.
What about any other form of gate thatâs world exclusive power, but not earned from the world? What about pay a noticeable sum of gold to a vendor to reduce the mob HP?
Noone deserves or is entitled to anything for just paying a sub. You agreed to this when you created your account. Blizzard has the right to ban you or revoke your access (with or without reason), and make any change they see fit. They even own all your characters. All youâre paying for is permission to log into the server.
You want a real answer?
Blizzard drinks its own kool-aid too much. They take their âgoodâ ideas to the extreme, LFG leads to LFR, Thunderforging to Titanforging, Artifact weapons to Covenants, personal loot to forced personal loot etcâŚ
I donât want to know where giving heroic/mythic ilv by doing WQ leads us.
So it seems that you also fear non-instanced players earning items that you feel they arenât entitled to.
Why do you suppose that is?
Do you believe theyâll replace you in competitive content? I assure you, thatâs not going to happen; youâll outplay circles around them.
Where does your fear stem from?
Blizzard sets the difficulty of content and the rewards for completing them. You, as the player, choose which path to go down.
If players enjoy progressing through Normal raids, thatâs great.
But having open world gear scale up to Normal raid iLvl takes away absolutely nothing from them. In fact, it might even help them clear their content.
And by the way, why is it OK to take away progression from open world players but not raiders?
No content should ever stop dropping loot just because you donât technically need it anymore. I was just hypothetically applying your rules to other content in the game.
But here you go again, making up your own rules for why solo players and open world content should be denied progression, when RPG gamers across the board tend to enjoy progression, and gear impacts gameplay in all content.
Blizzard is already ignoring all feedback from casual players. But they are going over raidersâ wishlists and fulfilling each wish in some way or another. Do you think that this is good for the game? (Probably yes, because you seem to have strong bias for or against players depending on what content they do.)
Justifications have been given multiple times for why itâs wrong to keep nerfing open world content gear, but elitists block out any reasons by denying the simply reality that gear impacts open world gameplay, and that MMORPG subscribers are going to expect power progression over time.
On the contrary, the elitists donât seem fine. They put the burden on themselves of preventing the travesty of casual, solo, and open world players enjoying the gear progression that they have had for years now.
Maybe you think that open world players donât need Normal iLvl gear to do world quests. (Even though you would be denying the fact that in some cases, they might need it to fight elites.)
So why is it OK for Mythic raiders and key runners to keep getting gear that they donât technically need after they have beaten their highest difficulty? To run the same difficulty again more comfortably? The same thing could be said of open world players doing the same quest again next week.
So a better question might beâseeing as open world content rewards have absolutely zero tangible effect on you, why do you need for the rewards to be kept at LFR iLvl? Why is the burden on you now, when you could just agree that it would be fine for open world players to keep their progression?
No one is entitled to anything. Youâre not. Iâm not. OP isnât. Sosari isnât. The devs give us a reward structure, and everyone has equal opportunity to earn all that it has to offer by doing the specified content.
If you have a justification that does not use the words âdeserveâ or âentitleâ or any synonym thereof, please post it again.
