If you think Normal raid iLvl gear is BiS…. perhaps open world content would not be so braindead for you.
So devs should stop letting the final Mythic raid boss drop any power-related loot, and we should remove all gear drops from keys higher than +20, because those teams obviously don’t “need” any more power?
And devs should stop listening to what hardcore players “want”, because how players feel doesn’t matter?
You still haven’t justified in logical terms why open world content has to be capped at LFR iLvl. All players need, want, and deserve power upgrades—open world players just as much as group content players.
Then you should be begging devs to remove gear rewards for Mythic raid final bosses and keys higher than +20s, because those players don’t “need” better gear, and see how much it matters.
Because people getting gear that you think they don’t need seems to bother you so much.
It’s more than that, though.
AP is gone. Titanforging is gone. Corruptions are gone. Conduit grinds are gone.
And these types of players are already going to be at Heroic or Mythic raid iLvl and won’t need LFR or Normal iLvl downgrades from slow grinds.
The issue is that these types of players want desperately to widen the gear gap as much as possible to make themselves feel superior.
It might be bis for someone, some people stop at that level and are happy with the level of progress they got for the effort they put into the game. Why are you trying to take that away from them?
Some people stop progressing at m+10, other normal raid or mid heroic. They get rewarded accordingly, same way people that only do WQ are also rewarded accordingly.
That’s a disingenuous argument. Does solo-content gear stop dropping loot completely once you hit the top? Again, another false equivalency.
I actually have advocated multiple times, not just here, that Blizzard should make decisions based on what they think is best and ignore all player feedback. So, yes.
You are repeating a point you just made, so I will just tell you to read what I just wrote above.
You still haven’t justified why the change should be made. We are saying it’s fine the way it is. We do not have the burden to prove that no change is needed. You are the one asking for change, the burden is on you.
Yes, but I was hypothetically suggesting that keys higher than +20 drop no gear at all, and not even count for the Great Vault, because those players obviously don’t “need” better gear.
(Open world players not “needing” better gear seems to be the main justification for denying it to them.)
You are misrepresenting the argument. Did I say open-world content should stop providing gear completely? No, I didn’t. I said the gear progression path ends, but you would continue to still receive gear at the LFR level.
Just like how when a M+ player reaches the end of their gear progression path, they continue to get the same level drops. A player only running +10s path hits the end faster than someone pushing +15.
You even agreed that progression paths should end at different points, but you can’t justify why it should be higher than LFR.
At this point, we might just have to wait and see how hard the content actually is, maybe Blizzard goofed up and made it too hard, or even too easy, for LFR gear to be appropriate and will adjust it.
Beta is pretty clear where the base-difficulty is. There’s a reason they started at Normal and dropped it down to LFR. This is proof that Blizzard doesn’t see justification for it. It doesn’t matter if people’s feelings are hurt, it’s just the facts.
No, just because .01% find things too hard doesn’t mean they deserve better gear to make up for it. WoW has been about equal access, not equal outcomes.
It depends on how many people are struggling, but they will most likely nerf the content. Based on beta though and determining that LFR level loot is rewarding relative to it’s difficulty, we can assume that it won’t be over tuned.
