I’ve said this a few times. Just because a community is smaller and likes to contain RP to those who could be trusted with it does not invalidate the community. The majority of us who RP Horde do so because we are always quality over quantity. If you vibe with a group here great! If not, then stay Alliance.
I have to say, the couple of people coming in here espousing that Horde is dead are just sad and one of the reasons I can’t stand Alliance RPers. Would it be great if there were RP hubs like Stormwind? Well yeah. Obviously. I don’t completely discount the “one off” spontaneous RP but do you know what I have to deal with when I’m trying to make those connections you say? I have to deal with people like those above. People who belittle to make others JUSTIFY their existence.
No, I won’t be doing that. I like where I am even if it’s more quiet. Because I’ve been RPing for 2 months straight in multiple storylines every single day. Unless someone’s in the know you don’t. This is by design. This is the desired result. A community of quality whether people like us being here or not.
We are not sorry for existing and enjoying what we do for our #15dollarsamonth.
It’s very true, and what makes it extra funny you’re going against that is your main is basically in a Guard guild.
*More, it’s generally more cringe.
There’s just as much cringe over there, if you like I can post stuff that’s been seen in the PUBLIC channels of MG horde? Like the public erp that gets posted, the PvPers constantly posting stuff, or the Horde saying the ‘Alliance is so bad’ for being alive and having actual walkup RP - and RP everywhere?
It’s pretty ironic saying something like that after
As pointed out, basically all hypocrites horde side.
How are you seeing RP in public that shouldn’t be there, AKA ERP, but you don’t see RP at the same time? Nobody here is mentioning Goldshire being on the Alliance side because it’s moot and a strawman. Just like what you just posted. Take the hint. You are not Horde, you did not try, you are not honest with anyone including yourself, and just go back to what you like. Stop slinging mud at something you aren’t a part of and don’t understand.
I really don’t care what you post honestly because you really seem like the kind of individual who’s opinion just doesn’t matter to me because all you have been in here is hateful and derogatory to every single person who says something to you.
Your opinion of my community doesn’t matter to me or if I’m guessing really anyone here. So if you want to keep acting like a rapid dog go for it, we’re all just watching you make a fool of yourself at this point.
I don’t know the state of Horde RP, but with the millions of little timewalking alts being spawned right now it would be a great time to push recruiting. If I can level a Blood Elf in single afternoon, check out their heritage quest/armor etc., why not? I don’t know what the present state is, but there is huge opportunity to improve the situation right now.
Seeing something every great once in a while, and again I don’t consider it RP because it’s not. This was in Orgrimmar, not anywhere else and that person (Who is a PvPer) is still around and runs to grief all the time.
You’re the one that didn’t try and went back on your word within the same posts.
You are those people.
Far more than you, since you’re apparently guildless hmm?
That goes for yourself too, like I said, all hypocrites.
None of you are actually part of a real community, but go off.
(It’s also funny seeing someone with a non-RP name talking about lore breaking btw)
And who are you exactly to define what a real community is? lol you’re sitting here acting like you’re the end all be all authority on Horde RP but you’re just some nobody on the Alliance and the Horde together. Fail bait is fail.
To answer the OP, Horde RP here is excellent. It is tight knit and you won’t find it on the streets unless you go where we are during events or camp RP. Join the Horde Vanguard to be kept in the loop. Join some of the guild Discords and express interest, genuine interest, in Horde RP. Learn the lore. Get fully immersed and let go of the notion that unless RP is happening at all hours of the day it must be dead.
If it feels right to be Horde then stay. I want people here who are genuine and will make an effort to write compelling and interesting things. It doesn’t mean be perfect all the time. I encourage anyone to reach out to the active groups here and not worry about the naysayers. You’ll never know until you try, OP.
It’s honestly just trolling at this point because those statements have nothing to do with one another. There is a lot of pain and sadness I sense here so I won’t prod it. I’m just speaking my piece and moving on with my day.
I have to say: this forum’s responses and now argument alone is not a good look for the RP Community in general. Thankfully only like 1% of players who RP are on here.
There is a clear factional divide between Horde and Alliance.
If I hadn’t been on Moon Guard for a while now, this forum would make me second guess having interest in Horde… and any role-play even.
To get back on topic: yes. It’s small, smaller than Wyrmrest Accord, but the population is slowly growing from what I’ve seen/ Remix is helping, just as it helps Alliance side, but a lot of characters may not actually be RP characters in the long run, which is what a lot need to think about.
My personal experience with MG Horde? While it is made up of quality role-players, it is not exactly welcoming at times. MG Alliance? There’s numerous people and RP Quality changes drastically among people (as it will). You’ll have some that may be brand new to RP, which is great to see. Some may be more comfortable doing one-liners. Some may be dipping their toes into the lore or may even disregard parts of it. It’s a wide-ranging group, but is expected based off of the activity level within it.
MG Horde is smaller of course, and the guilds that compose it have set their standards, and so MG Horde very much reflects it.
I can definitely see that. I probably should’ve ignored the person. I love Horde RP and hate to see it trash canned so haphazardly.
I think the standard is higher on Hordeside so I can see where that might feel unwelcoming. However, if someone makes a concerted effort I can definitely see it. It’s fairly easy to help someone who is honestly doing their best.
The Cata overhaul to Brill was a real damper to a once somewhat popular RP spot that Blizzard seems to have no interest in bringing back.
It would take less effort to just ignore RP you don’t like and move on with your life rather than yap about it, we’re all just playing pretend in Great Value Faerun anyway.
Honestly, I’d just like to throw in my bit - a big part of why Horde RP is struggling, at times, on MG? Is people saying the old; “It’s not here, look on WRA” line. There is a Horde RP community here, and I feel that ‘advice’ is a contributing factor to why it doesn’t get more members.
I laughed a bit too hard at this because BIG true. It’d be cool if there were more aesthetically pleasing Horde places to be in this great copycat of a game XD
I’ve been roleplaying on hordeside for the last few years. The quality is great, and the stories are well-written and fantastic to participate in. Not only that, but the atmosphere I’ve found with the horde is equivalent to being a part of a family. We’re here to write stories and make friendships. The people I’ve met and gotten to know on horde are very welcoming and incredible individuals. and so far it’s been the best part of my time rping on Horde MG
