This is a large reason why we’re exploring other avenues besides discord. But the way that we see it, there’s not reason -not- to advertise in discord as well. Even if we only get a few new people interested, well that’s more than we had when we started. ^.^
But aside from that point, did you have any ideas to contribute on how you think we might bridge this gap between Alliance and Horde? Or even just to help the Horde side a bit?
It’s a hard ask, I just think naturally as time has gone on Horde has gotten less RP usage. As others mentioned part of that is because of the lore, but also it’s a result of some of those that are attracted to Horde RP in general and certain themes.
I think events that are less specific race, or military/guard themed would help draw people along to participate. I think definitely less aggression towards those that don’t understand the lore completely (and what got retconned/What the RP community has decided to retcon) as well as those that are more casual and not intricately linked into all the other events.
I think Advertisement for things is a harder task, and the reason is because of HOW MUCH advertisement for various things there are that it can be easy to miss or pass through - especially in game. I understand I’m the type that gets a little overwhelmed by all the different stuff being posted in /y, general, trade and such in game though, as well as /s at times and I’m genuinely not sure what/where to advertise to bring new people/casual Roleplayers over to it.
I have found events that are upcoming sometimes via it being mentioned in their TRP, that is definitely something I do a decent amount of - just browsing peoples profiles. Though I get a tad frustrated with how many seem to be advertisements for selling names, carries, boosts, or is just complete nonsense/OOC these days.
The only places I could think of to bring up already not mentioned would be places like Bsky/Bluesky though it’s definitely smaller than twitter the communities/circles there seem to interact more organically and it can be easier to find stuff since there’s less to sift through.

I’m going to toss a link to Horde Vanguard’s forum post and discord because like it or lump it, Discord is a great way for people to meet and interact. There’s no pressure to join the associated guilds, but I think I and others would be happy to help any way we can and this would be a great place to open up some communication and raise awareness.

I know a long time ago there as Magister thing in Silvermoon - my old main at the time was the main judicial magister. I wonder whatever happened to it, but I would be interested in something like that again for ahh reasons.
I’m definitely going to try and make it! I have a Vampire the Masquerade game that happens most Saturdays at that time, but if it cancels I’ll be there with bells on.
Honestly it’s surprising for me to hear that Silvermoon’s not really utilized anymore. A lot of the fun I had (as a Forsaken) was going to Silvermoon and sticking my nose into Elf Happenings.
Years ago, Silvermoon was pretty active for RP, but then again, that was . . . a long time ago. I would love for it to be more active again or at least an attempt - even if it’s just an event or what have you.

Though I wasn’t be hostile. I sooke matter of factly. Again I don’t write in terms of reading between the lines. I write thibgs straight forward and to the point. If iI see that someone messed uo in their story I will call people out on their bs. So It was neccessary because they’te trying to claim that there were people trolling as if to paint the Alliance members that went to the political discussion as in a bad light.
While there are bad actors there, however I can account for discussions that occured oocly with the groups that I’m in that the events she described didn’t happen.
Moral of the story is: Don’t make up lies.
And in terms of discord, I’ve run into my own issues with people roling their eyes at having to join another discord or having to have discord. Forums should be adequate in advertising, along with maybe twitter, reddit, and general chat. And advertising it a few weeks in advance in the hopes that people show up…Do a countdown every day or so.
Honestly the sheer lack of anything going on MG H on any given evening (outside of the odd rp event) becomes staggering, especially Compared to WRA. Screenshotting the VoS and VOH alone is a sad telling, along with just how many people comparatively just chat and RP out in the open in WRA
As of typing this, there are 2-4 people in MG’s VoH that are spottable, with 6-8 in VoS. Suffice to say, WRA has just… so much more atm
I hear a lot of… Bruja-ja about that game. (It’s great. Forgive the pun, I had to.)
Unrelated to vampires: I’m more than willing to spitball and contribute as well. MG being only an hour behind me as opposed to WrA’s three makes it easier to schedule events and attend them - so long as they don’t go into the deep of night.
