How's Horde RP here?

Well damn, this whole thread went nuclear and popped off, didn’t it?

It keeps getting positive and then people get angry at one another. :frowning: We’ve forgotten phpBB forum etiquette.

In these moments, I like to quote star basketball player Jackie Moon…

“EVERYBODY LOVE EVERY BODY! COME ON!”

Rereading through this since I left for the greatest military movie of all time, I can say for the most part this has at least been more civil than not. Of course we got people that come to forums to just be mooseknuckles (I won’t name names, but trolling worgen and human mage). I think that’s every online space.

I think everyone sometimes just needs to breathe from forums and remember - we all play a stupid pixel generator to surge our dopamine levels.

I am by no means a Sylvanas Loyalist but to quote the Banshee Queen - “Burn it.”

Throw the ring into the fire lol it’s the only way the thread can be saved anymore.

I refuse! I’m gonna be nice until someone really backhands me verbally and then I’m gonna be hilarious

Again, I cannot attest to anything beyond 2 years ago, but I can say with confidence that Horde has striven to make Horde players front and center in Horde-related matters. This last Conquest, I can say, as Horde’s head of security and a major organizer, that Horde made amazing strides in providing events by people who I know are Horde players from both War Wolves and Stormtalon, as well as holding and maintaining a space for us and reshaping the very negative attitudes that were sinking in deep. As a result, we made several new friends with Alliance mains and we had a very positive experience!

The alliance moderators are people who have been long standing friends of the Horde and work with us. We are allowed to have friends across the aisle, but they do not hold our hand, we work together.

I feel like you should remove the lens of what was and really try to open your heart to what is and what could be. There are very positive things in the community and in this thread that make me excited, and I feel letting go of the negative thing sin the past are the best way to find how to improve our community.

I hope you’ll be able to give us another chance, or at least I hope you find comfort where you are.

Well said.

Aside from the offering up of discords to announce events, do you have other ideas in how to promote more successfully? I’m happy to help where I can to promote cooperation with you and yours.

I thinks that’s a topic we’ve broached in large before in getting event outreach.

We’ve done forums before. Those tend to be really hit or miss because forums are like the Twitter of WoW - volatile, hate filled, and people just feel bad being here.

Discord has been a sure firewl way because SO many people are in SO many discords. But then again, if you’re in too manr, you start turning off notifs and pings

Horde is active, and does not run solely combat military style events. My own guild has Story Circle and more we are working on. War Wolves hosts Kosh’harg and has for the last 2 years… maybe 3?

Discord, forums, Moonguard-Wiki has even been discussed as a new way to advertise. I post recruitments in trade chat, I talk horde guilds up when people come over asking to join. I have sent countless orcs, trolls, elves and forsaken towards the guilds I think they would fit in when they come to me.

Ranstrom is right, Twitter is okay, but its not a great place to advertise. I have even thrown things into Warcraft Conquest and TOA’s discord.

The only way to promote beyond our means would likely to have an alliance alt in trade and such. However I do not know how well that would go over.

Hmm, that’s a fair point. I’m guilty of this myself, silencing pings in a few discords.

And… definitely, I would not recommend forum posting.

I’ve had quite a bit of success just from spending an hour or two here and there doing /yell’s during peak Stormwind hours. Not being obnoxious with it. Just a yell, once every 30 min or so between RP. It’s just another idea is all.

That could Def help. I think we could probably do something like that with trade chat in cities since not a lot of folks are reading yells/local emotes. Horde side were also more thinly spread across the cities.

The only issue with trade chat is, due to its toxicity, most people turn it off. Doing /yells at 30 min intervals is entirely accepted in the community. The acceptable minimum is only 10 minutes.

If you’re not comfy with doing so, however, I’ve also just sat on a toon with a TRP filled with advertisements or ‘Ask me about X Event!’ LOOOOOTS of people will sit in Stormwind and just check out TRPs.

I could def try the yelling thing. Because ya… trade is a cesspool… on both sides lol

Don’t tempt me. I have that NPC energy.

But to the point of discords, while you raise a valid point, Gilneas Black Market is linked to several other popular discords so that any events posted will be advertised in their discords as well. I mean, it couldn’t hurt, could it?

No, it can’t. I mean any advertisement is advertisement. I won’t look that in the face.

I believe we do do that… I think that Peaches is working with the Gilnean Black Market in some degree, given that I believe it was a wee bit inspired by Lordaeron Night Market. I’m not 100%, but I think we can definitely get eyes on that.

We’re affiliated with the Lordaeron Night Market. Peaches from UCN is in there. So if any of you want to come in, even just to advertise, he can toss you the link. Or you can message me directly in Discord and I’ll do so. Moonpie8738
