When I made a decision I would put myself in the players shoes. It would avoid things like don’t you guys have phones , and _you think you do but you don’t, and all the other pr blunders they have had recently. I would hire developers that love the game and want to make it because they love it.
I would also not release something until it’s ready, enough of this half finished buggy expansions
1.Revert under performing classes to their 7.3.5 states and methodically tune them down (Spriest, Animal Druids, Enh Shaman?)
2.Remaster Ice Crown Citadel and make in minimum 25man max 40man

Get rid of Island Expiditions entirely, or have it reward Titan resiudm to a cap like Valor points

Remove buffs from all classes or bring it back to a cata state, doesn’t make sense that some specs got their buffs back but some didnt. Or add all of the buffs to Inscription Warscrolls

Bring back proper profession bonuses. Give BS’s the ability to make really good weapons (I believe this was in MoP?). Give Tailors cloak bonuses. Let JC’s put a slot on their heart of Azeroth. Give professions something that allows decisions to go past gold making. I remember taking forever to choose professions and how exciting it was to have an enchantment on my lv.26 blood elf warrior in BC. Now I’m just thinking about what’ll save me the most gold.

Have crafting professions interact with each other, have certain Inks that inscription use require oil that only Alchemists can make. Have nice flasks that Alchemists make require special vials crafted from enchanted glass that only enchanters can produce.

How is it “more subs” if you trash your playerbase in order to come out with a brand new game unrelated except perhaps in lore? You’ve already reduced the playerbase to zero when you removed everything that people worked for and told them to go to this different game.
Delete every other viable MMO and live-service-style multiplayer game. There, WoW has as little competition now as it did then.
Bonus points if I also make it so the players don’t have careers, children, mortgages, and other such petty distractions that get in the way of an MMO taking over their waking hours.
They have already driven so many players from their game with their bone-headed insistence on sticking with their bad decisions come hades or high water that there is nothing they could do at this point that would do better than slow the exodos.
People aren’t stupid. They have learned that what they are hearing in “communication” from the devs is carefully crafted to tell them what they need to hear to keep them subscribing a little longer. The part that is left out is often more relevant than what we have heard.
People who have already left will not be coming right back. The devs burned that bridge to their playerbase.
The ‘community’ has been asking for a lot of things, most of it should never see an internal test realm let alone a live server. There are too many people playing this game to give everyone the things what they want.
- MoP Valor/Conquest system for all slots
- MoP PvP gear with resiliance
- Upgrade mission tables to Legion level
- Drop 30% of all trash in all M+ dungeons (maybe even 40% actually)
The game would zoom in popularity

at this point with the bosses Blizzard has , I think the only option is to make it free to play but add more cosmetics to the store.
I would pay to dye armor , or even to make mounts look cooler, “armor mounts” would be nice (just cosmetics)
Free to play would bring back a lot of people and encorage new people while cosmetics options available for everyone even lvl 1 new players would pay more than subscriptions.

CONTENT. Lots of it. More dungeons, more raids, more pet battles, content for small groups, content for large groups, content for solo players, more battlegrounds, vastly expanded professions, player housing. STUFF, all relevant and all max level.
People would come back if there was more freakin content.
I like some of these ideas, but I think you’re getting overly wonky here. For example, just making the one main filler spell (or something similar for each ranged dps or healer class) cast while moving with no penalties would be a huge QoL improvement. All you need is that one spell or channel you can set up for when you know you are about to move. Warlocks had Kil’Jaeden’s Cunning back in MoP and it needs to come back and be baseline for every ranged dps and healer. It’s so much more fun to play that way. That’s why my main is a BM hunter.

WoD-style Valor Points return and can be spent to upgrade your gear to +10 item levels and add sockets and tertiary stats. Valor Points can be earned from all non-queued group content (Mythic or higher Dungeons, Normal or higher Raids, Mythic Island Expeditions).

The game tracks your successful keys and displays the relevant completions to the host when you apply for a group. Example: For a Temple of Sethraliss +8, the game will show the host the ToS +9 you did last week along with the AD and Underrot+7s you’ve done this week. Depleted keys are simply ignored by the system and are never shown to anyone.

Leaving a keystone run early will prevent you from participating in another key until the run you left ends, either by completion or timeout. If the team you left chooses to walk out and reset the instance, you will still be locked out from other keys until the key you left would have timed out. Leaving a keystone run after the timer has run out is not penalized.

The maximum loot available from keystones starts at the +4 level when the season starts and increases by one key level each week. This is to prevent keys from making it too easy to gear up for the world-first Mythic race.
Remove LFR, Normal, Heroic, Mythic Raids. Replace them with one single raid type like BC.
Remove m0 and m+, heroic is pre-raid gearing.
Remove AP farming, your HoA grows +1 level every reset, and every new character at 120 is given the same amount.
Buff the rewards of WQ, no more garbage 100g or 50 resources
IE now has guaranteed dubloons and 1+ rare item for each win.
Flying everywhere is enabled with a new buyable 500% speed.
Give professions an item that gives you +100% movement speed in older dungeons/raids for moggers/collectors
Give professions a chance to craft raid gear with recipes inside the raid, they are BoE with no restrictions.
Remove self-healing from half the classes, remove silences from half the classes, remove CC from half the classes, remove snares/disarm from half the classes. Make it so you cant attack inside divine shield, LoH and Divine Shield cant be casted twice on the same paladin if both timers are on CD. Give classes the ability to shatter divine shield, ice block, deterrence.
Make the pvp medallion lower the cooldown rate for each additional cc applied after use.
Remove IoC, AB, Deepwind, EotS, Seething Shore. Reduce the resources needed for turn ins in AV, make them matter again.
