How to: Write threads requesting things

Not trying to be argumentative, but to me, it seems a bit hypocritical to quit a game forever because of a handful of design changes and then immediatly turn around and advocate for design changes in the alternative game option that was created specifically to give an option that didn’t have all the design changes…

I think Blizzard has shifted their direction in retail several times, especially when they churned critical staff for new people who probably wanted to take WoW the direction they wanted it to go. Along the way they changed practically every system in the game.

I don’t want Blizzard to change the fundamental design of Classic. I also think there needs to be a way for someone who rolls a toon to be able to experience Classic as though playing on a PS. What I want is optional content without progression and some of the systems that were actually positives in my mind in retail come to Classic.

I’m opening to waiting awhile before discussing what those systems are for us to get a feel for Classic the way it’s currently standing. However, the magic of Vanilla for me was discovery. I bough the collector books that had all of the spells in the game and maps of zones and dungeons that I would read on the bus to school and in class. I really wanted to go see those places and explore them. Blizzard lost the magic of making large, city like dungeons to explore with five people for eight hours. I want more of that, because at this point I’ve seen all of the content in Classic either while I was playing Vanilla or while I was farming mogs.

I will also enjoy playing through everything again for nostalgia too, I’m just saying the sense of discovery will be missing because I already know what is in the game.

And I promise when I see your thread in general discussion about it being time to kill retail and make World of Warcraft 2, I will jump in and defend that desire and agree that a totally fresh start with new places to explore and old school grindy rpg elements could be absolutely amazing. But this game isn’t that. This is for people to play what was, not what could be.

No you are not. Enough of your trolling. This is exactly why blizz implemented the report system. Shoo now, go away. :sunglasses:

So, what, you’re randomly reporting me just because I don’t agree with you? Real mature. So much for this “better community” that classic supposed to have.

Feel free to leave and never come back if you feel that this is not the place for you. No one is forcing you to post here. If they are, leave us a subtle sign and we will signal for help.

What do you think reporting people just for having a view you don’t agree with is doing?

Arguing semantics is it’s own form of trolling and you are doing a lot of it.

Blizzard has already made statements on these forums about many of the pro-change ideas being brought up here. Including transmog.

These ideas have been discussed many times already. There is a stickied post at the top of the board with info FROM BLIZZARD.

It makes no sense to drag out the 245th pro transmog thread under the guise of civil discussion when a simple search would yield the discourse they are allegedly trying to have.

Going back to the now perma-locked transmog thread. It was obvious, through the title, that the OP had ZERO interest in polite discussion. It was dealt with accordingly.

You’re allowed to suggest it, but it doesn’t mean it will amount to anything. What’s more important, a few people on the forums suggesting changes, or the hundreds of thousands of people who signed a petition to start this entire movement, and the driving factor as to why Blizzard started this project in the first place?

Not to mention, you’re not allowed to play the pity card or “stop” what we have to say, especially whenever you continuously make absurd suggestions that little to no one agrees with. You aren’t the appointed arbiter of the fan-base’s proposals and hold no power to stop or continue a discussion by your will. If you want to stop getting backlash for it, then stop making them in the first place, otherwise, we’ll continue to have a say to further pressure these insolent suggestions.

Or you can act like a mature adult about it, that’s an option too.

Directly contradict each other, you can’t dismiss an argument because you want to. That’s being a child. I’m not here to argue semantics with you, so you can be an “adult”, by addressing my post, otherwise I don’t feel compelled to continue a conversation with someone who cherry picks their arguments by identifying whose an adult and who isn’t.

Anyone IS allowed to make any suggestions, that’s BLIZZARD’S RULE on BLIZZARD’S FORUMS. FFS, just stop.

Next.

Well it doesn’t mean that all of you have to attack the poster. Disagree and move on.

Just another form of an attempted pity card to try and rationalize your side of the debate and to further derail the discussion. At no point did I attack you, this is the problem with a lot of inexperienced debaters; they always feel “they’re under attack”, when at no point did I make a direct attack to you or your person. The most I said was that your suggestions were absurd and insolent. Not you or your person.

So, next, or am I going to have to break down literally every variation of this argument and thought process down?

So basically telling them they can’t play classic, they can’t be posting here, that’s not attacking them?

Have you bothered to actually read the comments made towards anyone who thinks anything different from the #nochanges crowd?

I have, and those people are not me, so why are you creating an arbitrary link between myself and those people? You continuously assume that anyone who doesn’t agree with you is #nochanges. You’ve said a lot of things to frustrate people, and you can’t hide behind that.

Quote me on any time I’ve “attacked you”, and we’ll address it accordingly, otherwise, cycle through another point.

You forgot a big step.

A change proposal step must always start like this:

I’m all for #nochanges, but hear me out on this. Also you should be posting from a character that has 0 posts.

The Transmog thread was locked, if you had actually read the post, because the conversation had veered off topic. Which it totally had, in no small part because of the constant flaming of people who though the forums were a place for political protest against changes.

Blizzard never takes a long term hardline on anything, as do most companies that want the flexibility of iterating in the future. Their current direction and current implementation of Classic do not include Transmog or other highly requested additions at launch, but that is subject to change when it suits them.

Also you can’t play Classic, which is a product of Blizzard breaking the status quo, and then constantly complain about people asking Blizzard to break the status quo. That’s obviously highly illogical.
