Alliance gets all the story and character development.
From Legion, BFA, SL, DF we have seen the development of alliance hero characters like Anduin, Jaina, Tyrande, Khadga, Alleria into central pillars of warcraft. Sure sometimes Thrall or Baine tag along, but they are not being developed. They are just there.
Tyrande had an epic storyline with the Warrior of Elune
Anduin had the domination storyline and the consequences of that.
Jaina had the daughter of the sea thing going on.
Alleria is looking to be a centerpiece of TWW, we had recent development with Dark Heart.
Horde recently only had Saurfang, which was awesome but he is gone now and there does not seem to be any replacement.
Again I am not talking about Thrall or Baine tagging along, tagging along is not character development. I am talking about real character ARCS which move the plot along.
I was on my DH yesterday and used the toy that switches your faction.
Suddenly I was this female Draenei Demon Hunter and it looked amazing! Only thing I’d have changed is I’d have made the skin red.
I’m not lying, I rarely go bonkers in this game, but that got me excited, then obviously the crushing reality hits, but it’ll be something to be happy about if it ever happens.
I don’t care enough about Lore anymore, it’s all been butchered, so I’m hoping.
True, but it depends on one’s definition of “casual”, too.
I may not do end game raiding (in any capacity) nor PvP, but I can still play hours on end just leveling & questing (working on professions), etc. In fact, my husband (more of a raider than me) usually asks me about low level/irrelevant content questions 'cause he knows I’ll have the answers
Mostly Vanilla (well, the Cata version of it, I guess) & WoD areas, anyway.
I’m also waiting for Brewa to find this thread and be like, “what the?” LOL
Factions don’t even matter anymore for any type of gameplay content. They’re a cultural and lore device for the RPG element. Different people will enjoy different things.
Though I still say KT shouldn’t have existed and they should have given us Drust in the form of a another step of height between Vrykul and Humans. They could have been as tall as Zandalari and the lore would’ve made more sense.
Yeah, pretty funny too. Alliance ran away and then the orcs were like “They left these perfectly good bodies”. Was so funny seeing the orcs trying on the bodies and spooking the Alliance with it.
