How to get a dungeon group together even when you keep getting rejected!

What about this one dps we saw on our server that was spaming LFM for the heroic daily during the entire clear of our Kara and ZA. He was making the group it seemed and after 3-4 hours he was still trying to geta group. Seems to me the ones that sit all high and mighty on their thrones and say things like “You can form your own group” are probably sitting on decently populated servers. I do not have a dog in the fight as with or without RDF I have my frineds and guildes on a low pop realm and will never have an issue getting a group.

At that stage I’d recommend trying steps 5 or 6. And yes playing on a server with population is helpful.

But that would mean paying to transfer or waiting in line to queue to play. Like I said your guide is good, but I have been playing this game since 2006 ish and RDF is the best thing for all servers. Players can continue to form thier own group but limiting a large player base of a tool they want is foolish imo. As I mentioned in other threads, With or without RDF it has zero affect on me.

sounds like you’ve got it all figured out bud

Well 50 years of life experience does help slightly.

It’s not an anti-RDF post. It’s a “We don’t have RDF, so here is what you can try.”

The obvious solution is to put in looking for dungeon as was in Wrath.

Can you please show me where I said this post was Anti-Rdf? I was just informing that person my opinion on things. I understand lots of player when they see support for RDF get all emotional but it will be ok. Many want RDF and many do not, either way doesn’t affect me but my opinion is having it is much better over all for all severs vs not having it.

Wtf the first post looks like a guide to find a job. It shouldn’t be that hard to find a group

No one said it wasn’t. It looked like you were countering something that was never said.

Your positivity is refreshing, OP. As for the people complaining: I’m very, very pro-RDF and anyone who has seen my posts can see that I am, but this isn’t about RDF and moreso about a nice person giving inexperienced players advice.

No, I think the post is good, even complimented the OP. I just think it is only written looking through a narrow lens of populated servers. Most people I see saying things like, “Form your own group” do this and do that are all on larger servers and have no clue what players on low pop realms are feeling.

I disagree. It was written through the lens of it’s the only option we have right now.

Anyway, let’s not derail. <3

Yes, make your own group, get good at talking to people in the party, promote the tank to leader and announce it to the party.

Tanks should lead a group. Someone has to make final decisions or the group will take too long and peeps will leave.

Healers should voice their issues, if any, with the tank’s rotation, pulls, and ability to keep aggro. This is normal. Dont take offense.

Tanks should voice their issues, if any, with the amount of heals they get, or don’t get as well as the stealing of aggro by the dps. Healer aggro should be mitigated by the tank at all times. The healer should be the last word on whether the tank can successfully hold aggro…just as the tank is the final word on whether the healer can keep the tank alive. Dps…dont get involved in this argument unless the tank and healer can’t agree.

Dps should ask how they can help the tank by asking about crowd control and helping the tank know where to go. Other than that, stay silent. The party chat should be heavy with tank and healer talking. Dps needs to leave the chat clear.

Ask for mana, regardless if you are a healer or not. The tank will decide if pulls can still be done without you around.

A good party takes commitment. Say something and don’t just drop group and pout. Learn to compromise but also learn your role and what is expected of your role.

It’s ok to expect the tank to hold aggro but don’t be too aggressive with dps. Slow down.

It’s ok to expect a heal even if you are not a tank but don’t make a habit of stealing aggro. Slow down.

It’s ok to ask for a bio. It’s better than a ninja away. Let the tank and healer decide if the party will take a break or continue without you.

Tell the tank any quests you have in the dungeon. Better yet, link them so the tank knows where to lead you.

Share the quests you have. No one likes a selfish party member. If more people need your quest, then the tank is more likely to add it to their route.

Have fun and take the party at the pace that the tank produces. They are the leader and your party is only as good as the support you give the tank in both dps and heals.

Stay behind the tank. Yes, even rogues.

Well what else are you supposed to do? Refresh LFG over and over until you find one?

In game yes, being nice and polite will garner you an improved chance to get in a group as OP suggested but on low pop realms this still does not help. I see if everyday on my server with dps spamming chat with “LFM need tank and healer” for long, long period of time. I believe another option is to continue to come to these forums and advocate for more options for players vs limiting them.

Lots of people are struggling, so I wrote this post to EXPLAIN the process. The process itself is simple.

Yep. Forming groups is simple, but the people you interact with aren’t bots. They’re real people and that is the hard part.

I mean…sometimes they are bots lol

I think they should bring RDF into the game. Me saying that is from all the people that are so anti-rdf, that it seems they almost all play on huge servers. They are clueless as to what players on small severs are going through. There is a thing called empathy, and I have that for those players that are limited either through time, life, or the inability to get into groups due to the lack of players available.
