How open are you to a new WoW

You are of course completely right. Maybe I missed it but Cataclysm on didnt do much to build anticipation for the next big conflict. It seems like characters and such are introduced as you go. I guess WoD reimagined some old characters but there really isnt much build up lore wise for stuff in more current content. Might not matter anyway though.

With the RTS games you mention they created wow and the first 2 expansions, huge successes all 3 of them of course. Lots of history and character stuff in them. Who knows maybe it still would have done well but ppl knew what it was because od RTS like you said so it already had fan support.

I wouldn’t be excited because it’ll be in development for a really long time. Especially if they’re starting right now in their current situation.

After like five+ years I’d probably be not very hyped anymore and bored with WoW 1 which would have died ages ago from no content updates. Just going to move on to something else.

It also wouldn’t really be WoW anymore. WC1 to now has been a solid track of story and development. Throwing that out seems like a bad idea on all fronts.

Hopefully racial and class options are heavily expanded, and they get rid of restrictions on classes. Make the Factions a PvP-only storyline and allow neutral Heroes to get their hero-ing on.

I wouldn’t mind a WoW 2.0, but the reality is that it wouldn’t happen because the main game would have to stop development for 4-5 years for them to finish it.

It would never work, this player base would never be happy with anything they do tbh.

If its under the Blizz umbrella it would still be under the corporate Activision umbrella which means the same min/max metrics would be forced upon the devs to leech as much money from us for as little effort.

Blizzard got too big when it got bought out/merged with Activision. their primary loyalty is to their shareholders now, and gamers second.

Long story short, any new MMO title for Blizzard would fall victim to the same issues modern WoW has.

Game studios have to be hungry and want to create an amazing game. Blizz isn’t hungry, they can just re-release old games or make minor adjustments to current ones and release them as expansions. We as the consumers just gobble them up.

Well, I’m not going to play it but I’m personally not against other people getting things they enjoy

A classic plus is more likely than a WOW 2.

This is my dream. They would probably ruin it with boosts, like they turned the TBC levelling experience into a dead levelling experience selling TBC boosts. Still it would be a more fun and satisfying game to play than the retail treadmills.

Hypothetically, yes I would love to try it. Especially if it was a different team altogether working on it. Like if the old senior developers were making it. I would still play regular WoW though, at least some.

I was really turned off when Blizz added boosts to TBCC. I can already see them doing the same thing for WOTLKC so that new players can get around that level requirement for DKs. Those restrictions didn’t harm the game back in the day, yet somehow they are too burdensome for today’s players. Sad.

I would say I’m not dumb enough to get sucked into another game as consuming as this one has been.

when wow’s done, I’m moving on to less needy games.

Well its obvious that TBC was used to bolster numbers from probably a waning retail. Its effect was wrecking that awesome crowded levelling experience classic launch had, and classic had for like 3 months after launch. Its still fun, and there are people levelling…but man did it make TBC classic feel like im in a low pop game, even rolled mankirk so it should be packed.

But yeah all you can ask for about the classic games is that they allow you to experience again a game that isnt totally messed up with invented issues and their dev solutions that break the game.

I’d respond same as when Classic was released I guess. I have too much time (not to mention money) invested in this account. I’m not starting over again.

i dont believe their new wow game would be any better than the one we have. it will just be new worlds and new stories. they’ll still have the same vision for the game with regards to systems and balance. not interested.

MonkaHmm (A Twitch Emote),

I don’t think this would work. Taking a big risk tbh. As a player I would want my pets, toys and mounts to carry over. New meaningful Professions works same as before. No more “short term Systems” and build apart for each of the expansions. Just new wholesome content “evergreen”. I say if that was in it then i would 80% try it.

:man_shrugging: :clinking_glasses:

It depends! I really like wows settings and characters. Elves, orcs, goblins, humans… it is so much fun. If the new mmo didn’t have fun characters and setting like WoW then I might not be interested!

depends on what it offers. if were dealing with same ole bs we are in current wow and calling it “new” then nty.

what i want is a complete fresh start none of this timed bs as it doesn’t interest me keep that in current WoW. have more balancing being done on a weekly basis so all specs/classes are extremely viable doesn’t necessary need to be the exact same but in the sense that if someone is pushing high rated content like M+ make it so the weakest spec isn’t working themselves to death just to compete and able to actually keep up.

just my 2c and what i like i know im just 1 person out of idk how many play and we all got different wants/needs thus i try to be open minded i try to do content i hate in terms that maybe hell it’s not as bad as i make it out to be, etc…

Probably “No, thanks.”

I play two MMOs, and that’s all I’ve got room for in my life.

I would support a new WoW. If it was updated graphics… now I get the “no carry overs from old game.” I think that is usually the issue for most players. I can understand this, but I think they could at least do something nice for the longterm players. Like special/unique mount, armor etc. Just so they acknowledge how some players have been loyal customers for a long time. Maybe different levels of it, for expansions of joining the game. Seems like a bit too much, but I don’t feel like it is unreasonable for the amount they leave behind. I would imagine old WoW would stick around anyways… if they launched something new. So if anyone ever felt the itch to go back to their stuff they could.

The reality is Blizzard probably have no desire to do this. We just got a recent level squish. Still I think it would only be beneficial for the company and game. I heard there is conflicts with an old engine and coding. Be able to reach more platforms. (systems, mobile etc) Appeal to a wider audience with updated graphics. List can pretty much go on. I would advise them to keep old WoW open tho so it would still bring profit, it probably just wouldn’t receive future updates. All new content would be going to the new WoW.

I would be down with it.
