How open are you to a new WoW

Lets say Blizz announced next week that they are starting a new modern WoW mmo, new world, and new story. What would you say?

No carry overs from the old game. Just a big fresh experience.

I’d keep an eye on things but if it’s the same team we have now I’d have not much hope. They can spew all the news in the world, but it’s actions > words at this point for me.

I’d give it a try, but I know it wouldn’t have the audience WoW currently does - because its always been an anomaly - and I’d be looking at it real close, because if they just use it as an excuse to double down on the things people hate NOW, it’ll just usher both versions of the game to an early death. If they use it as an actual fresh start to try something a little different, I’d be more interested.

All hypothetical of course, it’s never happening.

I would play the free trial to see how it goes, but ultimately end up coming back to WoW. Fotm games usually die out once the trend ends.

I don’t want to be one of those players that invested a lot in my character, only to see the community bail once they grow bored of it.

I wouldn’t touch it… not starting over with 600+ days played.

Doesn’t matter thought because there’s zero chance of it ever happening.

Problem is, it’d be the same team handling wow right now. It’d be terrible.

I feel like we would get shiney, new graphics… which is nice and all… but the rest of it would be convoluted systems. That’s sad. :frowning:

If it was a new IP and not made by current blizzard, then I’d be curious.

I’ve always wanted something a bit more futuristic and gritty, but with the combat system of WoW.

I would give it a look, for sure, but doubtful I would play long term. The spell would more or less be broken, even if it were a new game. It’s likely something I would play a bit and then leave alone.

That’s the day I quit. The only thing WoW currently has going for it is the existing world/characters/lore, and even those threads have grown tenuous. Break them, and I have no reason to give any more time or money to this company.

Seems like most people are open to it but nobody has faith in Blizzard to make something worthwhile. Sounds about right. You are a people of my own heart.

If Blizzard announced it today, it would take 4-5 years to materialize. Then I doubt it would fix any problems with the current design path. It will just exacerbate the reliance on systems and borrowed power. But hey, the graphics will be better. Am I right?

Honestly, I wouldn’t play it. Not going to start over for new graphics and the same frustrations. This game is most likely my last MMO.
