I’d prefer a WoW remake, fresh new start same world and lore, same races and classes (maybe few new ones even) but with a more vibrant and lively new world, thats packed with danger and exploration.
One of the reasons I play is due to my previous time investment. I’d argue that a lot of long time / hardcore players would likely not play a fresh WoW 2 as that would be the perfect way to pull out of the WoW cycle without thinking you wasted your time.
Probably not.
If it wasn’t WoW related it’s a maybe…but I doubt they have a NEW WoW story that could support an entire MMO
It will never happen in any case because Blizzard is very well aware that the “sunk cost” fallacy is one of the main advantages WoW currently enjoys as a game.
If my mounts don’t carry over I’m out.
A new wow made by a team of Classic/TBC hardcore fans? Ill be down.
A new wow made by Ion and his bois? Nah.
At that point they would have 3 versions of wow competing (if you lump historic servers all together) no way they will do that.
No way they will stop doing what they are doing to retail until the community learns to love it.
I dont see hope here. New wow is already here, been here since Legion. World of Timegatecraft
I wouldn’t mind another revamp of the game, but not a new game.
but what about my collection of alts, pets and stuff?
It would depend upon how they are changing the game. Just being more “modern” doesn’t automatically make it better. I wouldn’t have any issue with it being it’s own game and nothing from WoW 1 being carried over.
i think it would end up just like the annoucement for overwatch 2
Not interested.
Barely holding on to the first one.
I don’t really know what I would get excited for tbh. Modern to me just seems like development tools and internal structures. Visually the game is fine, mechanically it’s better than most games, and if there were just baseline systems that supported PvP it would likely be the best on the market.
You probably won’t catch me paying for 2 subscription based games anyway.
If you don’t like the MMO the current team has made, why would you like an MMO made by the current team?
Would fail imo without something to setup a new story. The Warcraft rts games were perfect for that. Tbh I doubt wow would of been as popular as it was back in 04, if it were not for the rts games that came before it.
Not that open. It’d feel like Blizzard is abandoning their current game, which they can’t even fix atm, just to make a new one.
Considering the length of time to create a new MMO is about 5-6 years and Blizzard has proven that they will take longer, I don’t think there would be much excitement for a new MMO happening in 6+ years.
Not at all. It feels like there is nothing left, everything has been milked out. It would basically be just like now but I bet they’d turn it into a straight up f2p game(developed in China).
Depends heavily on if they were to design babymode classes like what we have now.
If so? No, not even a little bit.
If not? I’d be beyond interested.
I’d rather them make new games off their old IPs again. Hear me out, Diablo, Animal Crossing. Boom, pay me.
They ARE making diablo. Dont you have a phone!?
