Pandaren should be very worried
I hope their quest chain is better than ours. Pandarens have gotten radio silence for I don’t even know how many years.
When i heard we were getting two masks i was excited when i saw how bad they where and how they didnt wrap around the face i knew it was a quick cop out so disapointed. The main heritage armor couldve been fixed with a better right shoulder and some slight tweeks like having the nose go over the hood.
Exactly, don’t get me wrong I’m glad they kicked us a couple extra masks but they were literally wall hangers in WoD and they shrunk them down too much they’re completely unserviceable. You really can’t make them work with anything they’re too small. Foxing the existing set would be fairly easy, there really isn’t an excuse not to outside of pride.
I’m in, I’ll throw down for a rework… and maybe a bit more “Heritage” in the questline instead of more LOA drama left over from Shadowlands/BFA.
Definitely not, if you want a post to go anywhere on these forums there needs to be a balance of drama, and truth or just flat out ignorance to what you post. Right now I’m advocating for changes. Normally I’d do that by being polite but incase you haven’t noticed being polite gets you absolutely nowhere with Blizzard.
They definitely won’t be fixing the quest chain but there might still be a tiny bit of hope for the set. With all the bugs from yesterday fixing the set is going to be at the bottom of their list, just like designing it was. Quest needed some mention of Vol’Jin even just a quick “I’ll be checkin in on our sleeping friend” from Bwonsamdi or something, just enough to show us his story isn’t over and he wasn’t forgotten. unless. he was…
Old Spice.
It’s not my go-to but it was a good deal for 5.
This donation is acceptable, thank you for your contribution!
Now not only armor needs to be changed, but questline too
Agreed but my hopes of them fixing the armor are low enough, the odds of them fixing the quest chain in the midst of all these bugs they’re having are slim to none, the quest line fix is probably just a RIP. Nevertheless I’ll be making a post about it later hopefully.
When the happy ukulele music plays at blizzard, you know the end is near.
I would add more hours for researching as just the wow troll lore and imagery is a beast in its own rights but then add all the real life depth of voodoo culture to draw fitting inspiration from, I would say at least double that time.
More time in the concept art design would also improve the final result.
It’s hard to put exact hours on it but I think 20-30 hours would be suitable.
Digital render is also bound to take more time, while 3D is not exactly my field ( I work in digital illustration ) from experience and hearsay/feedback from colleagues I would estimate a solid 40 hours +.
I don’t know if the artists are actually paid that much to begin with, the industry is riddled with those of us who end up working for less than minimum wage in terms of time investment versus pay.
Also, free the nose is acceptable. (:
Someone has to make a #Free The Nose post. I’m too shy.
I’ll consider it it should exist. Just did the quests and I was thorough disappointed both by the quest chain (which had it’s cool bits), and by the set being entered into the game with no alterations or adjustments. Like seriously what gives? This set is so glaringly bad it’s not even funny.
And they made Rokhan wear it
That piece doesn’t even fit the rest. I’d rather if he didn’t wear it.
I really hope it was just stuck on him like mine was after completing the quest, his new model was so cool. They didn’t even bother to update his Orgrimmar model, they probably don’t even know it’s there, they also have living breathing Vol’Jin still chillin on the Echo Isles… what a sham.
So your plan for getting an improved look on heritage sets is to reward Blizzard with extra money for having made sets you think are ugly? You realize this would incentivize them to make every set ugly, right?
I’m working the bargaining angle since other people tried asking nicely, using logic, and making demands already.
This assumes they’ll actually accept my offer, no self respecting company would.
Thanks for the insight! I agree if we were making one from scratch your numbers would be more accurate. that $70/hr isn’t what I expect them to be paid but what they’d budget in as a labor cost for production. The digital render would probably require more hours thanks for that, I don’t know anyone who works in that field.
Concept art design shouldn’t take too long considering there’s so many concepts to draw inspiration from, I feel like I could throw a much strongest set together in less than 8 hours then spend maybe 6 drawing it up in a way a digital designer could translate it. Then again I probably have more hours spent looking at Troll concept art than whoever they commissioned, which begs the question, why not commission someone who knows the material already and cut those hours more than in half?
You do know this is Blizzard we’re talking about right? Any self-respect goes right out the window when they see green.
I’m counting on it, we’ll know soon enough
