How much longer would you say Deadmines is than other heroics?

Ogre, Helix, Foe Reaper, Admiral Ripsnarl, Cookie…then the Vanessa sequence begins with all of them again, then the actual fight…

Honestly with at least one fresh 80 I’d say 40-45 minutes, when most other dungeons are in the 20-25 range.

Stonecore IMO is the average, Halls of Origination and Vortex Pinnacle and Throne can be 20-30, SFK is probably 35ish.

I do wish they’d bring in the outliers a bit.

Your heroics are really long. I would say 15-20 is the normal heroic. Halls “if you do all the bosses” is the only one that pushes past the 20 minute mark I think.

Other than Deadmins obvoiusly. That place is trash and should be able to be taken out of the rotation.

Dead Mines takes 17-20 minutes, 5-7 minutes longer depending on which dungeon.

It actually takes longer to do SFK.

I thought the point if running heroics was for fun, not for a speed run competition. I guess i was wrong.

Eh with the number of alts I have and the halved amount of valor we are getting in Cata relative to OG Tier 11, I’ve been spending more time in them than I want.

The other problem is that after mythic+, they are kind of either faceroll or cringe. (With General Umbriss tending to bring out the cringe.)

I just drop when Deadmines queues up. I’ll eat the debuff and switch characters.

So I went through a bunch of screenshots to try and measure this, because I feel that people in general constantly underestimate how long tasks in Warcraft take. Also they tend to not count time for forming the group, traveling, summoning, distributing loot, etc.

I don’t have a ton of screenshots where I took one at the beginning and the end of the dungeon, but I’d say the times I posted are pretty reasonable for pure pugs where 1 to 3 DPS are doing 6-10k.

I do have a screenshot of one of the very worst runs I did, we arrived at Corla at 6:20 and then started on the Beast at 7 pm. Whole run was over an hour, but those guys were seriously struggling with the “stand in the beam until 80 then step out” mechanic.

Yah a lot of people do, which exacerbates the problem that people queued get put in to it because so many people drop from it.

It is fun, once maybe twice…but when you wanna cap valor, god forbid on more than one char, it gets very tedious.

Run each place 50 times is painful.
Deadmines in particular since it almost entirely neglect your char power progression with its forced, stupid and mandatory RP that is cool to go trough maybe once…then its for many ppl just leave and tank the debuff. Vanessa particulary must be the single worst encounter ever created in dungeons, like its not even close. She should get the deterence disabled and second set of bombs disabled to make this encounter somewhat tolerable.

You.

ABSOLUTE.

Fool!

Playing wow, especially an older version is painful. Wow has always had a very boring feel to it. It was never really the game that was the fun part, but the adventure and meeting new people. Many of us saw the problems of a Classic Cata server long before this point. Cata wasnt the epic adventure that vanilla was. Cata is a result of Blizzard trying to appeal to a different demographic. More of the console demographic and a bad attempt at that. RDF just brought out the worst part and it feel more like a job. We were the best part of Wow. The players.

Dont get me wrong. This is entirely different debate. I do enjoy cata alot. What i would like to see is blacklisting dungeons, flex id for heroic raids, beign able to raid atleast two or 3 times per week, and a massive and i mean massive campaign against bots.

Do you understand how much Blizzard makes off of those bot accounts?

I would say it runs about 5ish minutes longer than most other heroics of which you CANNOT skip things. The first couple weeks it was pretty bad… everyone died to the fire… everyone got hit by lightning rods… and yeah bosses that just have abilities and phases you cannot do anything to them… sure… but these days most people seem to have figured it out.

5ish minutes longer tops…

If you can’t handle heroic deadmines then you are low skill.

It depends on the group, but about 10 minutes on average.

the RP is the longest part of the dungeon honeslty if there wasnt about 5 mins of RP this dungeon could be cleared in 15 mins on average with a solid group that knows what thyere doing

Considering the amount of alts (not a bad thing but eh it’s a struggle bus on some groups) on heroic right now and you want to cap somewhat quick it’s better to take the 30 mins and switch than staying. :dracthyr_shrug:

Hmm… in the average RDF group, the quicker heroics Stonecore, Lost City, HoO if you skip are maybe in the 15ish minute range.

Deadmines easily gets into the 30-35 minute range and god help you if you wipe on the event.

You can’t have fun while still being fast? What do you want to do have a conversation between every pull? The fun part of the game for most players is raids, not the heroic grind that you do over and over again to get pre raid BiS.

Obviously SOME people enjoy heroics over raids, but I assume that’s not the majority.

To ME part of what makes heroics enjoyable is seeing how quickly and efficiently my group can clear them. So yes, in the eyes of many players, probaby the majority… you are in fact wrong.
