Its actually ridiculous. And they are not discounted at 50% like the other gear.
No announcement, it’s inconsistent BS by blizzard once again.
I have two characters 10-20 points off i just didnt bother with, and one alt that was banking on the weapons being discounted at the same rate as other items. Shame on blizzard and their participation trophies

pretty much the same boat, I woulda spent my points differently in the last week if we had any sort of heads up on these random changes they’re throwing into the game.
Not saying they’re bad changes, but a little blind-siding.

They’re horrible changes. Moving 2.2 items to 2k, and changing the rates that they are discounted at is insanity.
The difference between 2k and 2.2 in the grand scheme of things isnt much, but the hardstuck 2k players do not deserve that weapon.
If moving 252 weapons to 2k increases participation even 1% then it’s worth it, gate keeping 2.2k with rating inflation like this is a pretty cringe take honestly. Anyone who wants to be 2.3k+ can easily get there now.

I want participation to increase, but giving handouts to these players with 2000 games played at 2k isnt going to change anything. It just devalues people who earned their weapon beforehand.
It doesn’t devalue anything. The season is over. You’re playing a “competitive” ranked pvp mode, gate keeping gear only hurts balance and over all participation.

Good. Lol seasons over. The reward for getting the gear beforehand is that you get to use it beforehand.
I mean, I earned my 2.2k weapon this season before any rating inflation, but wouldn’t begrudge anyone who needed the inflation to get to that rating. I think you’re hyped about your 2.2k, and you should be, but it’s really for you to celebrate. If it still requires rating, and time commitment, and if the players have put in 2k games in arena, it’s not a handout—it’s a gear catch-up mechanic.

The lack of communication is worse than doing nothing at all. I had a friend barely scrape 2k, literally last night. Bought his shoulders and then tried to help his teammate finish the push. I bet you he really wishes he had 252 weapons right now

It’s infuriated. Had 3 alt myself in full hateful with furious off pieces. All sitting between 1800-2k. Didn’t bother to push final week cause this info wasn’t made available. Great communication as usual. Garbage company

As someone well above 2200 every season who cares. Never understood this. Wish we all had the same gear like the arena tournament realms
