I’m curious to see how PvP server populations turn out. I think most people are aware that Horde racials are just really good for PvP, and I want to see if that’s reflected once the game is out. Actually, PvP server metrics are really interesting in general. What is the average age of a PvP player? Are PvP players more likely to have been private server players? That kind of thing.
I wish racials weren’t so critical. I thought the original intention was for racials to be purely ‘fun’ and fitting for the race fantasy. For example, Undead +5 Shadow resist, Dwarf +5 Frost resist, Night Elf wisp ghost…
Not me.
Definately not me.
Alliance racials are the better PvP racials until blood elf is released.
That would have stunned me, but hardiness ate it.
Many Alliance, now handle it!
Yup, the only really good horde racial and it’s RNG.
Alliance have.
Stoneform.
Escape artist.
Perception.
Fear ward.
Shadow meld, under rated racial allows you to drop combat or make casters miss.
Are you implying that Will of the Forsaken isn’t good?
Nope!
Wotf is once again limited to specific cc.
From two classes that are both pretty common.
My point is racials cover a weakness.
An undead priest vs a dwarf rogue, what’s wotf doing there??
Look at the rogue though, he can trinket your fear, stoneform out of devouring plague.
Undead rogue vs dwarf rogue, wotf once again useless, but the dwarf rogue can stoneform blind, crippling poison and bleeds.
Hardiness is great. WotF is great. Escape artist is great. Stoneform is great. Perception is niche and you have to know the rogue is around. Shadowmeld doesn’t function the way you hope. Fear ward only works when your buddy is around to hit you with it.
I will be a dwarf priest so I always have fear ward.
Meld does work that way dropping combat isn’t why it was good, avoiding cc is.
Melding a cast is good, it’s basically an interior.
Meld doesn’t work in combat. I am pretty sure. Preemptive melding does stop a cast if you’re not in combat.
Yeah you’re right guess it got changed later.
Thank God that was the weaker of the alliance racials anyway.
Alliance PvE here but … will have no problem gather some guildies and flagging in the Crossroads.
My pserver guild is.
That’s minus 50 DKP!!!
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!
Exactly. Shadowmeld doesn’t work in combat in Vanilla. Its pre-emptive, not reactive.
Only Stoneform holds a candle to Hardiness and WotF in PvP.
Hardiness has the benefit of just being there. There’s no “use it and its on CD”. Its just a flat 25% chance to resist the most common form of CC in the game.
Yup, Hardiness is the best horde racial and since its not activated, its a passive its based on rng.
Stoneform is the best racial in classic.
