How long will retailers last on classic?

i happen to pay a year in advance , and canceled that sub back in november. im waiting for it to run out. wont be getting a new sub until classic

IMO, it is only a better game model if it isn’t changed, especially if those changes would be made in order to cater to that retail mindset.

well consider, we have a widespread type of people coming here… people who just want to rub noses in the classic reality (revenge), people who just want to play classic again and arent subbed, people who just want to play classic again and are subbed, people who prefer retail and are worried, people who hated vanilla and embrace retail, people from rival games that would attract the same playerbase (ff,pantheon, eso,eq,swtor, etc), and people that enjoy trolling and getting people to argue with each other.

I’m not talking about making changes.

I’m talking about people intentionally driving away the people who are discovering its a better format. If you only let in people who already are coming, there’s zero growth. Zero growth in business eyes can’t be a better model.

And you’re posting on a level 120 character; which means you bought the last expansion.

Nearly every person in this thread hating on “retail” players is posting in a character over level 110, or a race that required BFA playthrough to unlock.

Youre all “retail” players hating on retail players.

aww ty! :sunny:

i bought the game hoping it would be as good as legion or better (which even then wasnt that great from my view but im glad others enjoyed it or still are enjoying it :D) and heres a small bit of my life. i am unable to work and have no ability to go out on my own. my social life tends to be in the games i play and wow just happens to be it. i dont think ive said much of anything towards retailers aside from some wont make it passed level 30 in classic. im sure theres more i have said towards retailers that enjoy it. but i haven’t been going out of my way to hate on retailers. I am happy there are people who can enjoy the game as it is right now, i envy them in a way because i wanna feel the excitement of logging into a game ive cherished for a looong time. but its (again for me personally) become a fragment of what it once was in my eyes.

maybe if its popular enough, we will get tbc and can enjoy silvermoon again. i’m anxious to actually get things i need from the tranquillien quartermaster. instead of looking at it and thinking… huh, i already have heirloom cape, dont need the cape… got heirloom robe, dont need the robe… oh here we go… a belt. doh. grinding zombies for 10 levels for… a belt. haha

Yeah lol let’s bash on people who play retail so they definitely want to come play the game and discover why we love it.

It’s fun to be primitive and tribal and latch onto a group so you feel powerful while bringing down the other group. Epic win!

If there was a remote chance to save retail WoW, would you be interested?

Take for instance a retail player that started playing in MoP or something, he plays Classic, finds some old mechanics and lack of QoL features a little frustrating, but he’s playing with some old school vets who are helping him along. He sticks with it and realizes how much cooler his class feels and how unique it is. Suddenly, we’ve got someone advocating for positive change to retail and another player to play with in Classic.

Take the same guy, he’s frustrated by some features in Classic but no ones helping him at all and the entire community seems like a bunch of know-it-all hyper-nerds who do nothing but complain, make fun and “lol” at retail. He quits and never comes back.

How is a thread like this even remotely constructive or beneficial to anyone? Don’t hurt your shoulders patting yourselves on the back.

I think a lot of “retailers” will use classic as filler content and not as any kind of serious progression-minded gameplay. They’ll come back and dabble when there are content droughts. I think this will make it extremely difficult for lots of guilds to maintain a constant 40-man roster, but we’ll see.

read my post o: i will be that person helping the new players in classic :3 and sharing muh loots with them too

I think about level 14 most people are going to realize oh crap, this isn’t post-cataclysms easy xp rate, and that will be the separating line between people just trying it for fun and people who really want to stick it out.

I remember trying all kinds of alts in classic wow and level 12-14 is where it started to sink in for me and made me feel like I can’t level another character, I have to go back to my main.

Now I have 9 level 110’s and 120’s thanks to how easy it is now and the free level boosts that I don’t even want…

I have a motor neuron disorder myself, so I feel you in the disability and gaming. You’re not alone.

My point stands though. There’s a lot of cutting off the nose to spite the face going on in this thread, by people that purchased BFA or are subscribed to the game currently; you’re all retail players too.

Hoping the majority don’t play classic is just saying you want blizzard to keep putting out more xpacs like BFA. Instead of encouraging more people to get into classic, and hopefully blizzard will see that it would benefit them to release xpacs and make changes that are more akin to classic.

We WANT classic to eclipse retail.

i plan on having a priest, paladin, mage and hunter. and doing their professions, as different professions for that class. the mage will be chanter and tailor. the hunter will be herbs and alchemy. the paladin will be skins and leatherworking. the priest will be mining and engineering. and i’ll rotate them from rested xp. never a dull moment.

I think a lot will stick with it or hit it when there’s a lull in retail. Players back in the day got frustrated and quit or took a break too. I almost lost my nut around 40, but I wanted a mount so bad, I just ground out the last couple levels. I think some original players will find it to be not what they remembered. I hope enough stay to make it viable and I hope it’s as engaging as I remember, but there’s nothing wrong with people deciding it’s not their thing.

yea i do see a lot of people flippin the bird to retail players. and agree it wont help in the long run, but some of them have felt the hate from retail players , myself included, i was bit**ed out in my guild for saying i was going to be living in classic rather than playing retail. telling me that classic was a waste of devs time no matter how small the team working on it was that it was a detriment to the game as a whole. telling me i was stupid for wanting such a thing. sometimes stuff like that makes you wanna lash out at the retail community , and it just ends up being as a whole rather than individually.

methyl b-12. not b-12. methyl b-12. otherwise known as Methylcobalamin. helps me with neuropathy.

i plan to have every class for horde on a pvp server, as well as a pve server with every class for alliance xD i wanna do it alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll -laughs maniacally-
