Lol even more so in keys, the range of that heal is what 10 yards? You would heal yourself and the tank and maybe the melee dps if you have one. In keys EF is decent, but most of the time you should only be using it to apply the hot so you can you get the value of the double mastery. The mastery the kyrian ability gives you is what’s great about that if we are talking keys, but that little heal is really really meh.
EF is what makes Ancient Teachings work. However, the legendary is very RNG and dmg dependent. I think a dmg increase could solve some issues with this. EF is also a very strong heal but expensive. As a fistweaver it’s on CD if you want to play that style. Our CDs are also an issue. Yu’lon is very clunky and Chi Ji probably needs to be a 2 min cd. It would be nice if Yu’lon followed renewing mists instead of enveloping mists. Even the description shows how stupid this ability is. Who has every had 6 people with enveloping mists? Doesn’t happen. I’ve had maybe 2 or 3 at a time. Revival really needs to be two spells. A mass dispel and a massive raid heal. Life cocoon is really great for emergency tank button and also sun king, it would be nice to have maybe an AMZ type versions for groups. Maybe make it a talent.
Really I think we need a dmg increase, lower mana cost of EF and a lower cd on our big ability. This would smooth out some rng and help with m+.
I’m quite happy with it and it provides a good boost in boss fights like Stradama, just off the top of my head. WoO + Essence Font is also an easy clap for Pridefuls. You really notice its power there. We can agree to disagree though. The little gnome monks that come out and heal with Fallen Order are cute, however.
Yes they are, and they allow me to cover scary situations while also putting out some decent dmg. I agree woo is good, however that little burst of healing that EF does at the start and end of its cast isn’t what’s helping you deal with prideful, it’s the super mastery heals you get.
I agree about chi ji being 2 minutes, makes zero sense for a talent that has to compete with having yu lon plus RJW to be three minutes. For LC would honestly like for them to give us back the legion trait that applied both of our strong hots when LC was applied. I do think the best thing would be to revert the rising mist change, we don’t have corruption anymore, we will never be able to meet those absurd haste levels again. Just super annoying, it was broken in the moment but the moments passed.
Dematerialize would be a huge boon for MWs right now in PvP.
Make LC or FB castable while stunned and we good.
These are the changes I want for MW PvP
I’d rather see Mana Tea give back mana then reduce cost of spells cast… All too often I pop it to cast Yu’Lon or something and poof… boss phases and we are “Dance Macabre” or whatever… wasting the CD…
Blizzard seems, even moreso than usual, completely uninterested in fixing up some of the ailing specs.
It’s almost passive aggressive.
The developer who designed Monk left Blizzard. The devs that are left have probably never played Mistweaver ever.
they should hire me
not with that mog, you make bad life decisions.
Good thing i follow function over form
I feel like Essence font could be cool if it was just a channel but you could only punch/kick/do offensive and doing so will give additional healing. If u cast a heal the channel breaks. It being a channel is crap because the heal itself is weak.
Yulon and Chiji definitely need buffs. At least with Chi-Ji you can push some decent numbers but requires a lot more effort vs other healer 3 min cooldowns, as well as a talent slot.
Unless you are in the contest for world first for 9.0… which you aren’t, because it’s over, pretty much EVERYTHING Max says is just blowing smoke into the wind.
Very bad advice for any normal player to be listening to.
I’ve been posting up his vids to my guild’s Discord for a while now, and as I would and we’d start talking about them - every single time we realize shortly in that all of the advice is detached from reality as most players know it.
It likely won’t even be useful for the 9.1 world first race.
This might explain what I’m seeing. I’m finding it’s actually “smoother” on me to heal my raid group with my mistweaver than with my “OP meta” Holy Paladin.
No one runs Mistweaver, even in raids… because they’re looking at how it’s doing in M+… but in my raid, my monk is just doing amazingly well for me.
Once again, here is the official ‘buff Mistweaver’ thread - State of Mistweaver PVP - Shadowlands (Week 1)
I don’t think that’s true at all. Warlocks (Affliction) are beasts in raids while sucking extremely bad in M+ and everybody wants them.
The fact that MW is comparable to the other specs even in raids while also lacking the especial tools those other healers bring is what makes them undesirable for top level play. Why bring a MW if a Hpala can dish out 20x more DPS with Devotion Aura, BoP, Sacrifice, etc. all the while doing similar HPS?
The problem becomes that ‘undesirable for top level play’ somehow becomes ‘undesirable for general play’ due to the character of the community.
So many fools pick like they’re in the top 1%, when they’re actually in the bottom 50%…
But I’m still not convinced MW is bad at any level of play. I think a lot of the issue is just perception.
Kinda agree with this recent analysis:
Yup. MW is MASSIVELY underrated in keys. I fully agree with madskillz here
Note to people ready to jump down the video maker’s throat:
Although the video was linked half way through, watch it from the beginning for context.
This guy is 10/10 mythic, was healing hundreds of high level keys on all classes throughout beta and retail, and is probably one of the strongest players all around making content like this on YouTube. He eats and breaths healing in wow.
Before you immediately dismiss his opinion because it’s not popular atm, take a minute to step back and realize his resume is probably much stronger than yours. Try to be objective for a minute when you watch.
