How long before we write the Community Council as a PR stunt?

FF is not superior , it’s just a second wheel , 10.0 waiting room

Blizzard sends out surveys to random people from time to time, a year or so ago they set up an entire feedback program for that and I joined that group but I never got anything back after that except of course spam email (since I forgot to check the do not share info feature). And yes it was a legit blizzard group according to the blues on here.

This. I was kind of salty when none of my guildies or myself were invited despite all being players since Vanilla, hosting community events and giveaways and all our accounts had zero infractions, but I acknowledged it’s just my own bias and other equally qualified people must’ve gotten the spots.

Then I just see troll posts, twitch advertising and racist/political drama on there and it just makes me glad I never had a part in it. Wrote it off before it even got off the ground.

Yes, anyone who pays attention to blizzard already knew the council was nothing more than a sham.

WoW classic is HOT! Community interaction? Good job, classic devs

I’m a little sad at how few of the parts of the game I spend my time playing have generated even a single thread in the community council forum.

I mean, they barely respond. My hopes were crushed when Letholas put together a really well-detailed and well-informed post about the current state of Frost DKs and nobody can dedicate five minutes to reading it and responding to him?

It’s just a waste, to be honest. Most of us here read more forum posts a day than posts posted on the Community Council forum in a week. The least the devs could do is set aside some time and actually read some of it. Letholas’ post was just one example too. Countless good posts over there about concerns, suggestions, and just simple questions and no responses. I’m not even sure it is a publicity stunt because they didn’t even give the usual “We’re listening” posts over there. It is just a waste and I feel bad for all of the people in the CC that actually hoped they could help make the game better.

It’s certainly more popular as it stands. It was so popular they had to end free trials just to remedy servers being full/wait times.

When has that been a thing in wow barring expansion launches?

If you were being paid to build this level of gaming would you want to brag about it? Would you want to come to the forums and have folks tell you your content is not engaging?

Self-pride in one’s own craft is something I’ve always strived for in my own life, I can point to things I built over 30 years ago that are still standing and are functional, so if your level of skill was as low as some seem to have it at blizz, it would just be a shaming experience as I would know I was lousy at my job.

FF servers are terrible , SL Had insane amount of players at the launch and had 8M+ playing with no problems of queues , you are telling me FF have 10-15M+ subs ?

Yes. I would. This would let me see why players are mass-unsubbing and allow me to make changes accordingly.

I hope so, but that means that 10.0 needs to be break the trend that we’ve seen during SL and BFA.

So would I if I was making mistakes in my craft I would want to know, but that’s you and I we have a personal work ethic that drives us to always be learning more. Yet think of all those folks you’ve worked alongside whom had no obvious pride in what they did, nor could they care less, as long as the paycheck comes in.

If you’re right, why are there less MMO players than there were back then? If you added all the MMO’s together, you don’t have 14 million subs. It’s a niche now. You don’t need to worry so much. WoW is going to be around for a long, long time…but you’re never going to see sub numbers like that ever again.

anyone else noticing a trend that the only people who’ve been defending this are all posting on low level alts?

From what I have gathered, the staff has individually refused to engage with the player base on these forums due to the “toxicity” here. They were encouraging it at one point and then it became obvious it wasn’t going to happen on it’s own and the leads weren’t willing to force anyone to do something they didn’t want to do themselves and it just stopped completely, except for the occasional big issue that couldn’t be ignored. The CC was a stipulation of the staff. They wanted a safe space with a screening process in place before they would agree to interact with the community. Some are still not satisfied with that process and refuse to participate.

To be honest , i still think MMO can pull off big numbers , the new generation is not getting into MMOS , but lot of people grews with MMO , i still think Riot can transfer their League players to their MMO , it will probably beat the peak of WOLTK on Launch

I still think WOW can pull of big numbers , if they manage to make 10.0 really good and have huge new feature , like playerhousing dragon class , 10 mans raids , cross faction

If Star Wars and Final Fantasy can’t do it, no one can. That ship sailed.

It’s so cute that you think that the mmo genre is dead. Good games are doing fine. WoW at this stage, not so much.

CC isn’t helping any, when it’s just a weak PR stunt with hardly any blizz responses.

What good games are doing fine ? outside of FF and WOW , every others MMO are niche with low playerbase , nobody know theirs games , nobody talk about it
